I'm certainly no lover of Citeh and that other nouveau riche club, Chelsea and their sugar daddy owners but the consistant plundering of our players by the Scousers over the last few years means that I would choose anyone over them apart from possibly Spuds and the Skates of course!. I remember Liverpool's domination in the 80s too and can remember being happy when Fergie ended that initially anyway, soon grew to dislike Manure just as much! Citeh have the potential to dominate for years to come too so it will be a case of hoping that Arsenal can get their act together, or better still someone from outside the big 6 can break through, although I hated them too in 1971 when they won the double and Bob "chickenhead" Wilson was their Goalie.
I've said it before but I still have a soft spot for City because plenty of their older fans will happily tell you how they aren't fooled by recent success and that if the money ever stops they could just as easily slip back to being ****. Vin
What have you got against Pompey? I know the ground is extremely below par, and a minority of their followers are pig ignorant, but most are OK. And they are local.
If you had worked with as many Skates as I had over the years you might understand Ides.... My dislike of them is a drop in the ocean compared to their sheer bitterness and hatred towards us.
Could be taken as a compliment...one rarely dislikes minnows...only the teams above you in stature. The hatred only really started when we threatened them and went above them.
It's not just a football thing I think Fran, I know people that have no interest in it that still dislike people from Pompey. I think that it is a human territorial thing, Scousers hate Mancs and is not unique to the UK, here is a song that describes the same thing in the USA and there was an episode of The Simpsons about it too...
Man, the Vincent goal was the most fitting way to win a match & a championship. Just incredible. The way he sets himself, then carries on and sets himself again. His teammates all looked puzzled, and even when it goes in they still looked shocked. What a player he has been for them, comes across as very likable to boot. It really feels like a fitting end to his City career. Again, what a hit.
It is also absolutely unforgivable defending. To allow a player the space and time to line up a shot, decide he needs to take it a little closer to goal, line it up again and then pull the trigger, without a single defender making a move toward him and closing him down... absurd.
Absolutely SA. Totally my experience when working in Waterlooville. I even used to secretly want them to do ok. Now sorry, total dislike.

It must be that simple. Watch Harry Maguire, he doesn't even turn round to see where the ball ended up until the crowd roars!
Of the two, I'd prefer to see Liverpool win it, mainly because they rely on a bunch of ex-saints. Also, I remember reading a pundit at the start of the season reckoning it's was Liverpool's turn to win the league... and if that's true then the rest of us get to have a turn and Saints should win the league next year.
One reason for not wanting Liverpool to win is the following from Klopp three years ago. “Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players, yes." “Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I WANT to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I COULD spend that money." In related news, Liverpool outspent Manchester City this year. Vin
They've spent no where near the same as City on that squad though, and he has kind of stuck by that by going to Liverpool to build something rather than rock up at City, Bayern or Real Madrid etc. (Relatively speaking of course.) Top bloke who's good for the league imo.
They should give them a trophy for finishing 2nd.....and perhaps we can name it? Bottlers Cup. Next years our year - decorated plate Or just go round Lovrens house where he has a replicate EPL trophy already on display next to his POTY medal.
In historical related news: Overall Liverpool outspent United during the course of Alex Ferguson's tenure. PL titles... United: 13 Liverpool: 0
