Having seen the trophy awarded, shame that was not at FCR. It was a bit of an anti-clim As much as I like Pukki, I think I am beginning to become a big fan of Mario Vrancic. He kept pretty much under my radar until recently, but wow - what a contribution he has made in the run in
The fact that he is selected ahead of Leitner, who I believe is PL class, says an enormous amount about how DF rates him. Can't wait to see how he performs at the top level.
Pretty sure it was Vrancic who Klopp described as the best player he had seen aged 18. Something like that a few years ago. For me, he’s just so well-rounded. It’s a shame he gets injured quite so regularly.
He was accused by me and others of being lazy it turns out he has a matrix brain that makes everything he does look to us mortals as slow motion. He chose to win this league and nobody would stop him
Did you know that Vrancic’s minutes per goal ratio is such that if he had played every minute of every game this season with the same ratio he’d have scored 27 goals! Or if he’d played the same amount as Pukki he’d have scored 25.
He was a bit of a 'luxury'player initially. Lovely touches and vision but not the required grit and graft. How that's changed under Farke! Gets his foot in, tracks back, anticipates runs and scores stonking set pieces. What's not to like Oh, and did I mention £650,000?
As a passionate Brexiteer even I know that the nucleus of our predominantly German core is why we are where we are . Skilled employees will always have their place in my country and treated equally. I will gloss over the cheap migrants stealing British jobs for a while until we get thumped by better skilled more expensive imports from outside the European UNION. That was a joke btw I love ALL of our players they are a part of our social fabric .
I read a story about Mario leaving war torn Bosnia as a child and his best friend's mum was from Norwich whilst growing up in Germany. As a little kid his friend told him one day he would play for Norwich city and he considered this his destiny. So many beautiful stories of players from all over the World coming to little old Norwich and fulfilling their dreams.
It was on news now in the last few days. This is even more heart wrenching https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...gee-premier-league-jurgen-klopp-a8746006.html
My own little dream is that this team's togetherness and team spirit, plus their pace and passing skills can pull a surprise on the PL big boys next season the way our team of the early 90s did. No over-paid prima donnas, just skilled grafters. Probably won't happen, but why waste dreams on something that probably will?
When I'm a Premier League footballer I'll probably get Grant Hanley to cut my hair in his pants too please log in to view this image
I just hope they haven't let slip our formation plans for next season on that white board. Looks like an attacking line up.
