    I am sure there will be a lot of debate about the 2019 Kentucky Derby for some time. I don't know whether there is an opportunity to appeal like there is over here.

    It would be a shame if Maximum Security went on to win the Preakness and Belmont - he looked like a horse that would stay the distance as he took a bit of pulling up after the Kentucky Derby

    It would be a shame if Maximum Security went on to win the Preakness and Belmont and was deprived of a Triple Crown even though he was first past the post in all 3 races

    From what I have heard, the connections of the disqualified winner may be considering court action, so this may not be over yet. I presume like most other things in America, lawyers can always get involved although I struggle to see how if the decision is ultimately a matter of the stewards’ opinion. What do they do: get in a jury and show them the replay?
