May 4th is the anniversary of starting our business so Revenge of the 5th is the name I give to the inevitable hangover I have after we celebrate. For an accurate description of how I'm feeling today, I defer to Bertie Wooster: "I am told by those who know that there are six varieties of hangover — the Broken Compass, the Sewing Machine, the Comet, the Atomic, the Cement Mixer and the Gremlin Boogie, and his manner suggested that he had got them all." Just watched last episode of Line of Duty. Don't panic...no spoilers. No wonder Hastings was near breaking point being interviewed...I was close to pleading guilty myself after trying to follow all the evidence.
That was the worst episode so far. A real damp squib of an ending with the most ludicrous plot twist involving Dot's dots...
Great series...and later series keep making references to past ones so you may end up following it more than viewers who have watched it over the years. It's amazing how enthralling it is watching long police interviews quoting evidence reference numbers. You end up mentally turning the pages with the accused and their lawyers. Hold on, wait a minute, what page did you say that was on?
Still held me enthralled and I'm someone who usually pauses programmes to make a cup of tea. Plot twist implausible I agree, but it is just to lead us into the final series which I am sure will be a cracker.
Spoiler: GoT Cersei being a complete **** as per usual. Really good episode but...….. only one Dragon left.
Talking of box sets (we weren't but I am). I think today is the day that I finally finish the last season of The Sopranos. Got 5 left. Going to miss Tony, Carmela, Christopher, Paulie and co.
I'm not going to spoil anything about the ending of the Sopranos but I consider it to be one of the best (if not the best) ends to a series ever. Vin
It's been a sad weekend for me. I found puss-cat Poppy dead when I got home Thursday night. I think she'd died not long after I went to work, she was totally cold and rigor mortis had set in. Friends buried her for me on Friday, under her favourite buddleia bush. Bye, bye, Pops
