I was in Venice in 2008 when we had Ramos, we were bottom of the league and 2 boneheads in Spurs shirts had themselves sent off. Now here we are eleven years later chasing a CL position and two boneheads in Spurs shirts get themselves sent off. Nothing changes, footballers are dim.
So you think today had nothing to do with pressure? If you think no luck has been involved in us getting to the semi's you're kidding yourself. We were fortunate PSV did us a favour and Barca put out their B team.
I was there when a bone head complained that we would be free scoring without Kane. I was there when the boneheads said kane should be sold. I was there when the boneheads said we would kick on after Ksne was injured v City. I was there when the boneheads said us scoring 3 away to city was proof they were right. I watched on tv as we failed to score against city proving the boneheads wrong. I was was there when we scored in the last minute v Brighton proving the boneheads wrong. I was there when we failed to score against west ham losing 1 nil proving the boneheads wrong. I was there when we failed to score against Ajax losing 1 nil proving the boneheads wrong. I watched as we failed to score against Bournemouth losing 1 nil proving the boneheads wrong. Nothing changes...boneheads are dim
MG asked whether the amount for transfers was shrinking given the stadium outlay DL said no. The fact that stadium costs had risen does not impact that number DL said that with a debt of £637m, subject to reasonable assumption on interest rates, the net spend on players would not be affected There is a certain amount the Club wants to invest in the team. If players are sold, that amount increases. Sounds to me as though Levy was happy to spend to an extent and therefore coincides with rumours that it was Pochettino, not Levy, who chose not to spend.
There wasn't pressure on us when facing City though. They were the favourites. Whenever Spurs seem to be the favourites for something, or when there's something to play for, IE today to secure a top four finish, Chelsea at the bridge when trying to keep up in the title race, semi finals in the FA and League cup in the past three seasons etc, we seem to always fall short. There is definitely a mental block on this team. Ten or so weeks back we had players talking of the title. Since then, 7 losses and 1 draw from 11 league games and we now find ourselves on the verge of losing third spot if Chelsea win and with just one game left to secure CL football with a team that's been on a dreadful run of form and will be without our two top scorers.
I think that the ref got it badly wrong in the Son incident. Yerma got away with a bad foul. If he thought that Son committed a red card offence, then Yerma’s was as well. I think both getting yellows would have been the correct decision. I have no quarrel with respect for Foyth’s card but to ignore the off the ball foul on Alli should have been a penalty and a red card because the was no attempt to play the ball . Several other fouls on Lucas also went unpunished. All we want is some consistency from referees, preferably between them all, but at the least, individually. Unfortunately the FA and the Premier League do nothing to make this happen.
If anybody finds Juan Foyth’s brain and you can rescue it before it drops down a drain, please send to: THFC 782 Tottenham High Road London N17. Thanks in advance.
To be fair, the ref was equally bad for both sides. On seeing further replays, Dier could/ should have been sent off and Bournemouth should have had a penalty themselves after Dier booted Wilson. Ref was bad but we were worse. We got what we deserved.
i hate the voices in my head We will win on Wednesday because we will want to respond We will beat Everton at home last game of the season Its meant to be the ironic twist in our season bla bla bla just **** off, arggh, go away voices!!!
RIP! When's the funeral? or....get the players into the Red Light District a day or two early to relax 'em!
With a one way ticket. Seriously, he’s a good athlete, but comes across as thick as two short planks.
He had no idea if Dier touched the ball or not so not giving it was correct Even watching in super slo-mo was not definitive. Being hauled to the ground was so obvious and blatant that it was impossible to miss
Tbh it was obvious from Diers reaction ... if VAR had been in use we'd have had 2 players sent of and both teams would havd had penalties ad we would still have lost. We deserved nothing today... the players let themselves, the manager, the club but most of all, the fans down. Here's hoping they correct it
