Even against Huddersfield, it was only the late 2 goals that put a gloss on a game we missed loads of chances.
They had a period of about 10 minutes when they were in it and created a few chances. If they'd have taken one of those and made it 2-1, then it was game on.
Come on Wolves! If they can do Fulham today, 7th place is theirs and Everton can't try and join us in the EL. Maybe then, they'll put out a team that even we can beat?
Yeah, absolutely, I was just taking the game as a whole. Realistically most teams always have a spell where they look dangerous. Even Wigan scored one and had a couple of moments when we put 9 past them.
Son should not have been sent off...but Dier should have ... so should foyth. The players haven't behaved professionally in my honest opinion... that's what has done us. They should have also had a penalty. Blaming the ref (imo) lets the team off the hook. Bournemouth were rocking so **** knows what Dier was doing and the players should be wise enough to know that refs often over react to raised hands. In my view that was a totally unprofessional performance by an experienced spurs team.
Wigan got slaughtered because they scored one, in my opinion. Really obvious handball by Scharner, which seemed to upset our players and got a big reaction. 3-0 was comfortable and probably would've been seen out. 3-1 by cheating? Up yours, badgerhead.
Another thing is when we start off looking lively we never make it count Other teams who start well usually make it count against us
True but it was still them getting forward to have an opportunity. Huddersfield had some chances against Liverpool as well and they lost 5-0 there.
Come on Palace, send Cardiff down and it takes the pressure off Brighton so they can play football against the goons. People are saying it was uncharacteristic of Sonny, but it was afters that cost him his place in the CL semi first leg. Having said that it's a stupid law if you don't do any damage and if you are going to send him off for that, what about the Bournemouth guy who stamped on his fingers? It would have been fairer top give them both their marching orders.
When all's said and done, you're still well placed for a CL spot - which is all you've been playing for in the league for the past 10 weeks. Earlier season form gave you a huge cushion. It's better to have avoided draws too. You've won 10 more than you've lost - same as Arsenal and Utd; Chelsea have 12 more. It would be have been a very close contest under the old points system!!
That's no consolation. I don't suppose now the 2-6 momentum against Everton means very much because of the way we are playing. I'm completely baffled by this. 1-0 again. I was hoping we'd break that this time.
I'm not asking this to sound condescending, but could it be some of your players just simply aren't up to the required level? Or is it the fact that you've overplayed some members of your squad? Maybe your players are more focused on the Champions League, rather than the Premier League? Baring in mind you were 15 minutes from getting knocked out by City in the Champions League quarter-finals, but it was these players' attitude and perseverance that got you through into the semi-finals.
In the last 5 games, we've scored 1 goal. Apart from Brighton, we haven't scored a goal and lost 1-0 in the other 4 games. Looks like it's going to have to be Vinnie to the rescue on Sunday...?
Just seen Poch's post match interview. Really odd. Didn't seem angry, upset or disappointed about that result. Almost dismissed it and just gave typically neutral responses when questioned on the sendings off. What you'd expect after recent bans I suppose but still, even he looks flat.
I hope so but I do wonder why the players heads have dropped so badly in recent months. This is not a dip in form, this is a complete capitulation. Has the club stated that they can't invest because of the stadium? Has Poch decided he's off? Something's not right.
Raging would be an understatement. To think we were title contenders not so long ago. Levy is to blame for all of this by not getting his wallet out. I can't see us beating Ajax as we clearly can't handle pressure and I can't see beating an in form Everton without Son, Kane etc.
