My surgeon came to see me after the op and said she can't be 100% sure till the biopsies have been checked but it's looking very clear with no new growth. Fingers tightly crossed
On Tuesday evening we went to the same pub in Newhaven that we used in November. Typical chain, nothing fancy, and the menu had not changed except for one thing, the prices. What had been £6.99 six months ago, was now £9.99 which is one heck of a price rise. We were asked to bring back a few items of shopping for an English friend, things that are not available here. Despite special offers, she told us that they were now 25% more expensive than this time a year ago. Our weekly shop here stays very much the same as it has for quite a long time despite the fact that some items go up and down as the seasonal supply varies. It is now actually cheaper to have a very good quality meal on the ferry, than to have a very average meal in the pub.
Evening all...... We are off to the vineyard in the morning.... but I will be nipping back for the Cup Final.... COYH!
Morning all. Dry, but cloudy in rural France at present. Lots of catching up to do after a week away, the growth of things I don't want has kept up with the things I do want. Finally all six of my water butts are full, so 2,000 litres to use over the coming months. Mme has reported that she has a lot of aphids on her roses, so some of her bio spray will have to be brought out again. Have a good day whatever you plan, and have a safe trip Yorkie.
Morning all. Grey and damp here, so the plans for today are on hold. It looks as if sometime in my workshop will be the most useful thing to do as I have to modify a piece for one of my chainsaws. My son-in- law is a tree surgeon and knows all about such bits of equipment, and found that there was a design fault on one which simply needs a larger washer, but no such washer exists. Take larger one and cut it to size is the message. Have a good day whatever you intend to do.
Morning all. Bright sunshine one minute, cloudy the next, all driven on by a not very warm brisk wind from the north. Wrap up again after a period of tee shirt weather. Hoping for three points this afternoon, but will not be banking on it.
Had to cover up some smaller plants with upturned pots last night with a mild frost (-3), snow in some other regions of Germany. Frost here is not unusual around early to May which makes gardening difficult at times.
