And Reading, PNE, Birningham etc. Such a shame after winning unexpected games at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, but we'd all probably have settled for a top 8 finish at the start of the season.

Yep great season,i hope the trip to Hull could be a bonus for us,but home form cost us a top two finish this season.

IMO whatever happens, under the circumstances, losing 3 key players (Flint, big loss) and struggling for out and out striker, injuries to keepers and Smith.......we've had a very good season with an amazing run unbeaten... If LJ & co can pick up 3 or 4 decent players, who's to know what might happen, next season..

You really Flint was a big loss? I think Kalas and Webster are both ahead of him defensively. Imo the biggest loss in hindsight was Reid!

Not only a great defender but was also an alternative for getting a few goals!

SO would you have him ahead of Webster and Kalas then?

I have to agree Bobby Reid was our biggest miss, saying that you could also rely on Flinty scoring a few goals could have been very important this season.

    Perhaps Reid's been a loss.
Maybe we'll know more if he can get in relegated Cardiff's team in the Championship next season.
Whatever, one things for sure, no team on the Planet will pay £10million to sign him.
    Well done Mr Ashton.

I do like Webster & Kalas, but having Flint, that was part of a squad would have given us an alternative & a difference presence...also a leader on the pitch...

But I don't think we would have got Webster or even Kalas for that matter if Flint hadn't been sold. So its one or the other really :emoticon-0100-smile

Oh God I see that RR has agreed with me so you are probably right after all :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0105-wink:

Flint only scored once for boro this season, Webster twice for city...Flint was brilliant for us but Webster is better.

I agree Webster is a very good player and wouldn't look to swap, just saying Flint would have been an alternative plus scored a bundle for us.

I’ll be at Hull too, only thing that’s bothering me is the coaches leave at 5am <laugh>, going to be a long day but hopefully worth it in the end

    Welcome back Joe and Bobby.
Not blaming them for leaving and still got a sneaky feeling Joe will be bought by another Prem club but Bobby wasn’t played enough to be taken on by another.

In real terms Reid was a 1 season wonder, so, as you say the club did exceptionally well to get £10 million for him. We will never know if he could have done it again this season, maybe, maybe not. I was sure that Warnock would not know how to use or get the best out of him which is why I was surprised at his decision to go there - and so it proved, he’s barely played.
