Beware if you are betting at Cheltenham (and why wouldn’t you on hunters night?) it’s absolutely lashing it down tonight.

Take an umbrella or at least a flat cap!! The official going is good, good to soft in places but I think it might be softer than that.

My thoughts on the card -

Gustavo Mahler is far too short, he probably will be asked to make all. My concern with him is that he’s 0-6 over fences, and all of his form has been on sound going. Saffron Wells stays further, likes cut in the ground and is probably the second best horse in the race. 7/1 looks fair. If all 8 run then Sam Cavellero is also a fair EW shot given his race record.

Hazel Hill is the star of the show, 1/2 is a little short but at 8/11 he’d be a play. Shame it’s 7 runners as I think a few of the bigger prices could shake up Virak and Master Baker.

Theatre Territory is a rogue, and can be beaten. However this is a rank race!! Kalabaloo should make it a test and something like Tb Broke Her might pick up the pieces.

Vasco Du Mee stays well and should run well at 8s in the 4 miler. It’s a really interesting race, in which many have chances.

Then my nap is Risk A Fine in the last. Should hack up and was odds against

Dundalk 5.30-Daughter in Law 5/1.Yard has a good record with two year olds recently and this lad has a decent chance of obliging.

Probably bring out the tweed jacket tonight :emoticon-0100-smilebut as we 'll be getting a taxi should be ok without a brolly!

I reckon Virak could give Hazel Hill a bit of bother. Like the jockey booking too..I hear Paul Nicholls owns a slice of this horse too..thoughts or do you see a Hazel Hill romp?

I also like Salvatore in the 2nd race..should be ok on the ground and might enjoy coming up the hill.

Haven't really looked at anything else and will probably limit myself to 3 or 4 bets tonight...

Rose trains the horse on her lunch break doesn’t she? I will be quite honest and say I’ve never been a fan of Virak, I just don’t see him being in the same league as Hazel Hill. My only concern is that HH is best off an end to end gallop and he won’t get that tonight.

However with the cut in the ground he should be able to get away with it without being outpaced.

Question to the forum... Just flicking through the card at Punch and see Timeforwest is reportedly carrying foal... Would this put you off in general if a horse was carrying, or would you see it as a bit of an advantage...??

Im not having a bet, just interested to see what you all think...<ok>

We had something similar a few years ago when a mare was announced to be carrying after it had romped up in a handicap.

I think it adds to the interest in the horse, and the fact it’s public knowledge pre race is brilliant.

Personally I don’t think you could be confident either way, unless you know the mare and how she is going at home.

    hi fellas!

    lingfield,1 35

MY BOY SEPOY won well on his last start last season, and a 3 lbr rise isnt too punitive, and the second horse advertisd the form with some good runs afterwards,so he looks pretty solid..

Good, good to soft but probably switching around if/when the rain comes.

Some big dark clouds over that way now.
