and did the atmosphere sound as good without, as indeed it felt from within. I never heard anything from the home fans but in the away end it was electric throughout so suppose i would nt
I was on the 8.03am train from Hull, which arrived at Peterborough at 10.00am. We were greeted by aproximately 40 Police Officers who guided us to a holding area at the end of the platform whilst they gathered the stragglers, then escorted us to the pub. we were of course all on video for the duration of waiting. I have to say though that the Police were very friendly and willing to engage in conversation. They advised us to stay in the pub we were escorted to, but pointed out other pubs we could use if required. When talking to the Police, they told us that all they wanted, was for us to stay out of the town centre, why I don't know. Being honest the floating pub we found by the river was better than any of the other pubs anyway, so we didn't have any issue with staying out of the town centre anyway! All in all a great day out!
The one we met after our crash was pretty good. Gave us a lift in the squad car before getting away from the ground so he didn't get roped into policing the football.
Nice to hear that you were happy with your London Road experience, always good to get positive remarks from away fans. It was always going to be McLean that got the winner, just hope he's firing on all cylinders now for you (except on 14th January or course!) as he's a top player.
I enjoyed my 1st visit to Peterborough and look forward to going back. Had seat tickets but had to move from my origanal seat as there was not enough leg room! so moved to the wooden seats with more legroom. The fans, ground staff and police were friendly and helpful, and we went into the centre after the game as our train was not till after 7pm and never had a problem and didnt have to cover my city shirt up. ITs just a shame that other clubs we go to are not as friendly as peterborough!
Yeah the leg room in the main stand is pretty bad! People must have been a lot shorter when they made that stand. The South Stand is a lot better, but unfortunately for you, only for home fans.
My nephew and myself did have a conversation with the poster of this article on the way out of the ground (prices and season tickets). In general i think that most away fans have a fairly trouble free day at Posh ( MK are not afforded the same hospitality). These days are much changed from just a few years ago since a series of banning orders on the idiots that woul purchase seats as close as is possible to the away fans. On a slightly different note, Arron ( bloody) Mclean, at least he was good to his word regarding celebrating.
due to my summer vacation all i get to watch is the highlights on tiger player. seams like i missed a goodie.
