Don't know. Just glad any future Cup Final appearances won't be spoiled for him by a stray spot of champagne touching him, what with him being such a teetotaler for religious reasons.

But it isn't about offence, it doesn't cause offence, does it? It's about respecting those people. They've obviously consulted on it, none of the players are actually kicking off about it, so why should the fans? The fans don't get a glass of champagne, it's bugger all to do with them.

There's a massive difference between somebody being offended and somebody asking to be respected. The two aren't synonyms. "It offends Muslims" is the biggest cop out I've heard for a long time. It's turned into a stick used to beat people with and it's getting weary.

I imagine the people who are ****ed off about this are the same people that were hilariously up in arms about vegan sausage rolls being sold at Greggs. It doesn't affect any of the people it pissed off, they just like the idea of being the victim so they can justify their absurd narrative.

It's lovely that you see being a bit more respectful of beliefs as 'kowtowing' to a minority. Not sure anything else needs to be said.

Come back again when the likes of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are respectful to different beliefs.

Don't know. But the upset is caused by people spraying champagne about not drinking it.

Champagne was always viewed as the most expensive drink and it was viewed as a status symbol in Royal circles hundreds of years, its since been used for a celebration, ship launches, weddings, birthdays, sporting events Etc.

Its just become another sign of the times were the tiny minority who love to be offended moan, and everyone has to tow the line or the full force of the thought police will crack down on you.

Oh right, is that how it works? An eye for an eye? Makes the world blind.

You don’t stoop to the levels of those who act below yours, you set the standard for them to rise to.

I couldn’t care less about what they do in Saudi or Kuwait, I don’t live there. I’m glad the UK is moving away from historically acceptable beliefs and the idea that we have something to fear by not clinging onto to aged traditions and ill fitting societal norms.

Embrace progress. Or be destroyed by it.

Is there anything to stop you sending Manchester City or Watford a case of real champagne so they can spray it on the pitch after they've won the FA Cup? If its too expensive you could crowd-fund it. I'm sure all those getting upset about the FA's decision will chip a few quid in.

Why should we we only do it if they only do it?

Why not do it because it is the right thing to do?

I have travelled to many Muslim countries, not just the likes of Dubai, but far more conservative countries. In each one I have been welcomed, and my views respected at no point was I forced into doing anything I didn't want too. We have some people of Islam faith in our family and they are some of the most welcoming and understanding of our culture and beliefs.

I am delighted that our country is far more respectful than Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I want to be a country that allows people to follow their own beliefs and respects people of different faiths and cultures. I am sure the players will indulge in many glasses of Champagne later.

Similar to how the England cricket team do it, Ali and Rashid take part in the full celebrations and pictures. Once this has been done they both step aside so the rest of the team can indulge in some alcohol abuse!

The champagne you purloined from our executive box at Newcastle was rank.
Oh, and it's 'toe the line', you eggcorn!

No it hasn’t. No they don’t. No they won’t.

Please see my other posts as to why what you’ve said makes you look like a proper whingebag.

Yep, don't knock a tried and trusted winning formula.

If you don't like alcohol, don't drink it.

Your previous post doesn’t make you right, and criticism of another persons post just make you look opinionated, or how I like to describe such a person, a ****.

Who is the we here? Unless i'm very much mistaken not a single one of us ****s on here is likely to be playing in a final any time soon. Not a single player has complained, on either side, and it doesn't stop any player drinking proper champagne afterwards in the changing room. Frankly this whole thing reeks of more dog whistle right wing bullshit aimed at denigrating people of the Muslim faith, stirring up more hatred of Muslims, basically the majority of what the Mirror has done for the past 20 years.

Talking of dogs, they are held in very low esteem by many in the islamic faith, to the extent that the police have to exercise great caution in using them for house searches.

Another potential headache for the policing of football games.

I have every right to criticise your post, when your post unfairly criticises other people. What you call me is of absolutely no concern whatsoever, NOMFP.

You made an assumption based on things that have annoyed you, as opposed to evidence. If anything, the younger generation are less offended than ever.

It's exactly what's happening. And it's been happening for a long time. Cries of "freedom of speech" have become an echo behind far right bullshit, when in reality nobody has ever been stopped from saying anything. They've been denied a platform, but they aren't entitled to one. That's tough ****. Then we get whinging dickheads saying "oh we get called racist for having an opinion". No, you get called racist because what you say is inherently racist. You get called a bigot because you're saying and doing bigoted things. Besides, nobody ****ing asked for your opinion, Big Kev from Leamington Spa, so don't act shocked when you get told to rod it.

We don't want to spill into the realms of breaking forum rules, but I really wish those of the persuasion you refer to would get with the ****ing programme.

For once, this is nothing to do with the fans and everything to do with the personal beliefs of footballers. Yet it's the fans who take it personally, the types who make it all about them and what they're being denied. Well, not the regular, common sense ones anyway. The others.

All about getting offended at absolutely nothing, then calling other people snowflakes when they point out bigotry and racism.
