Better than most. Two things, one we were not in any trouble today, Cardiff needed a WWD to over take us. Two. WE ARE ****E AT TAKING THE BALL TO THE CORNER FLAG. Loads of bed wetters on here today!
I didn't watch so I dunno. But when teams have nothing left to play for, their attacking doesn't change, but their defending gets worse. What I'm saying is, you all worry too much.
I remember it like it was yesterday. That happened a few times that season (where we refused to go to the corner in the dying moment and the other team proceeded to score right before the final whistle). The team in 04/05 wasn't professional enough about staying up. Anyhow great result today I'm off to celebrate.
No, we didn’t? At least I don’t think we looked at all like dicks. Keep in mind we had already taken Ings off, so we weren’t in an attacking posture so it was even less likely we would score. We were trying to kill off the game, Armstrong screwed it up. Honestly, I might have played for it because I think we were safe regardless. But I think the last months must have been a huge grind for the team and they have performed admirably through it. So I think there is also a benefit to taking the stress away, letting the player’s celebrate, and you can play the next two games much freer. Maybe even try some different things. When things start to get close, you don’t know what can happen. And this way, there’s more a sense of satisfaction of having earned your way in. Instead of backdooring your way in via (potentially) two losses, but Cardiff loses too. Like I said, I think pretty much every manager is going to do this.
Given that we were 1-0 and 3-2 up does that mean we dropped four points today for the purposes of these stats?
When Austin came on I thought, come on get one good chance. He touched the ball seven times, and put it out six. Under instructions to kill the clock. And you lot call that game management. Laughable. We were safe after Wolves.
The Cardiff game hadn't finished....getting something at the end of this match stopped us fretting. Points on the board is what was important..better than just being likely to stay up. Done, dusted...and move on.
The Cardiff game hadn't finished....getting something at the end of this match stopped us fretting ----------------- No, playing with a purpose matters. We were great for the first 20 minutes, then lost our grip. Ralph changed things and we were superb for most of the second half. Bournemouth scored a good goal to tie it at 3-3. Then we went spastic. That is my gripe. Don't know why people are mentioning Crouch, that was a totally different battle, perhaps people have forgotten that? Good game, crap waste of the last five & a tad embarrassing. Good seeing Ralph smile, but he needs better players if that's how scared he is.
When it comes down to it, our attacking players did their job today but our defenders, including the DM’s and Armstrong, didn’t. I class Targett and Valery in both camps, before anyone asks. I can understand Austin coming on, knowing a point was enough, and not having a great deal of confidence in the defence to keep another goal out.
Oh just general stuff about what a fantastic job Ralph has done and how he has revitalised players like JWP, Shane, and Redmond.
At the moment i would say no.players make mistakes. Jack stephens make alot of mistakes. Also worth noting that he is still young and can still develop his game alot
I think he needs to play alongside a leader ... a vvd or a fonte type of player. We don't have that here. I've said it before, but him and yoshida under Puel were a good unit so he's proven he can do it (in my opinion of course). Most of his mistakes have come when he's been leading the back line ... thats not his role.
Do we know where Yoshi was? And how much longer Vesty will be out? Not that it really matters now. But would be nice to finish the season on a high, and obviously the higher league position we finish, the better. Every little helps £££
