I always had this down as a 0-1 win for Derby but they are now 2 up after we had a man sent off. Will the last one out please turn off the lights and shut the back door. The crowd showed up but unfortunately the team didn't. Have a great summer everyone.
I take it that you didn't watch it then? The team did turn up and was let down by a deflection break away goal against the run of play and a **** awful ref.
Yeah for once actually we played really well and utterly dominated. Everything went against us, including the referee. It was a red card in my book but then again so was Huddlestone's in the first half. I try to remove bias from this, but I swear to god our luck with ref's this year has been absolutely shocking. Particularly in the last month or two.
Is the way it goes sometimes, personally I don't think we're ready for the Prem although would have been nice just to make the playoffs...I believe and hope we will be stronger next season and I also believe we need a few additions....if we can, a decent striker included. I see our blue friend across the waters (Warnock & co) haven't lasted long...ahhh what a shame!!.... Do I recall some on here saying the Derby job seemed a bit big for Frank Lampard.....seems to be doing ok to me! I'm waiting with baited breath for RR's reactions or shall I say overreactions!!!
I can understand the disappointment of those who were there and cursed our bad luck with certain aspects of the match and my point was that I don't think we are even close to being competitive at this level. So many transfer windows where, for the most part, we didn't quite meet our needs probably because the prices were too high left us weak, particularly in the goal scoring department. A decent season I suppose and yet?
How many transfer windows have upset you then Mike? For me two, this January and last January which also shows that we won’t waste money like some clubs. So in my opinion I don’t count January’s as I think it’s a stupid window that ruins the season and just makes players fees well over the odds. In both windows we’ve wanted forwards and they are never available in January unless you break the bank. In other words our club still treads water without spending Monopoly money left right and centre. Yes they would of been worth it if promoted but they are still if’s not certainty to get us promoted. Seems to me that you’ve a touch of RR about you!
We are competitive at this level Mike, I do believe this is our level right now, we are improving every season still though, as ROD said January windows prices go silly, we won’t risk spending the kind of money needed, it’s frustrating at the time, but is the right way really. On the subject of referees they are, and always have been biased toward the big clubs.Semenyos tackle was somewhat robust but in the context of the game where the ref let similar tackles from Derby go untouched it was a diabolical decision from a ref who had completely lost control of the game. Unfortunately he was out of his depth. I just listened to Lee on the radio, I think he may be in trouble , his comment was somewhere along the lines of there should have been three professional teams out there today , unfortunately there were only two, and he was right .
He’s on Facebook telling everyone to take note from Sheffield United and we should of bought players in January. Strange thing is he’s addressing it to Steve Lansdown like he’s on his friends list?
Yeah but he will have (OUT) banners for him tucked away somewhere, probably dusting them off as we speak!
Deflected goal and a real shame about the sending off. Years ago it would have been a top challenge but today it's a red card. Some days it just doesn't happen and there's no rhyme or reason to it.
how the f**k Derby won is a mystery.not a red card, and how bad was that Waghorn jumping into players everytime not looking for the ball, dirty cheating c**ts.
Conceded a lucky goal against the run of play. Lots of possession but not able to find the net. I can’t fault our players for effort - they put in a good shift. I also can’t comment on the red card - I couldn’t see the incident very clearly from the attyeo and they didn’t replay it on the big screens. Even after the sending off we were still putting them under pressure. Shame. Still, the pressure is off now ....... Again, we won every stat except the one that matters - just look how we dominated!:
