cant believe after the week we've had we're in the top 4 and it's now in our hands. Luckily Arsenal and United are as bang average as us!!
I was thinking the same. I think if we beat United at OT and Arsenal drop points at Leicester, we will do it! United look terrible at the moment and Arsenal cannot get a win away from home for love nor money at the moment. Am chuffed to still be in with a shout!
Yeah it seems like we've blown loads of chances but got 2 decent chances to get back in the C.L now. obviously we will lose sunday now!!
United are absolutely dreadful but we fall to pieces away from home in the big games. They’ll beat us.
We really have no excuses. United have been horrendous recently and have played more games than us with more injuries and in a derby. The only thing I'm worried about is where our width will come from now hudson is out.
CHO’s last two games were bang ordinary, clearly the lad has great potential but needs a reality check.
He has not been great i agree. But when he went off as much as im a big fan of pedro, teams sat off hudson and defences dropped off deeper and respected his pace. With pedro, teams close us higher and they know pedro or dave wont skin them and our attacks down the right arent really that useful
CHO need work but we does add width which stretches the pitch for us, especially as Hazard likes coming inside. When we have Willian and Hazard playing we are so narrow. United game is a 50/50. We are both playing fairly average at the moment so no result would surprise me.
I feel if we can get a win at OT and Arsenal drop points at Leicester we will have a CL place sewn up! So because of that, we will likely lose
Can't see Utd being any pushover at their place. They are due a good performance and showed they can play better than of late. As for us, it all depends on whether the 90 minute team or the 45 minute team turn up. Hope Giroud plays ahead of Higuain, as he brings out better link up play with Hazard and RLC. If only we had played certain players earlier, we'd have a few more points in the bank and 4th place would be very gettable. We need things to go our way plus Arsenal to slip up. Big ask, but do-able.
But do-able seems to be the running theme this season; only reason we’re in contention is that Gooners & Utd’s form has been equally atrocious as ours. I don’t expect any miracles on Sunday given our tendency to fill our pants in these big games esp away...but ho hum we’ve always got our version of the backstop: Europa (Ha!)
After the Spurs result, someone up there is doing all they can to help us out. If that doesn't get us going , nothing will, and If we blow this chance we probably don't deserve 4th place anyway. I'm optimistic and looking for a narrow win.
A weird game that. A point is great but I just felt they were there for the taking, I wish we’d have tried to win the game. I mean, we aren’t very good but by all accounts, neither are they. Both of us are absolutely miles behind the top 2 and that game showed it. I know we’ve got plenty to play for this season but next season is already concerning. We’re 5-6 players short of were we should be including a pair of full backs who we are in absolute desperate need of. In our hands now but I can still see us screwing it up unfortunately, just haven’t got any confidence in this team!
Point is less than we could have got in my opinion. Sarri set us up with a negative, feeble attack, and that's how we played. Higuain should never be allowed near the Bridge again, Willian is past it, Kovacic at best a plodder. Jorghino, well enough said. Even when he plays well he's ordinary. And so it proved. First shot at 43 mins and up pops Alonso, who actually played OK all game. RLC, Pedro and Giroud should have started, and Utd were there for the taking. They are maybe worse than us, but this was an awful line up for us. Hazard will be breaking his neck to get away from Sarriball. PS Martin Atkinson is nowhere near the standard to be a PL ref. Rojo, straight red, Matic yellow for first and probably yellow again for second, both time swinging elbows. Atkinson needs to retire.
