I just watched on JCV, you have to be referring to Sea Of Faith...WOW The winner is nice, just looked to have a bit of a high head carriage.
Sparkle Roll hated the ground and was conceding 7 lbs all round. Not impressive but she will come on from that and she looks like she stays well. With the action she has, some cut in the ground will help her. The Haggas filly was slowly away but sometimes those supposedly unlucky horses flatter to deceive. I'm not a Haggas fan I'm afraid. I'll stay with the Gosden filly. It's what they do on the big day that counts and I was always pretty confident she was going to win today despite the clear unease on the surface. Not crying out Oaks form but there are plenty of horses whose bubbles will burst before the end of May and I have an interest at 25/1, so if she makes the race I'll be happy. The Sun Racing Report card gave this review:- John Gosden looks to have another smart filly on his hands in the shape of Sparkle Roll. Up against a few horses that were well-backed and hailing from the big yards, she always looked the winner travelling powerfully and dwarfing the other fillies. She is a monster in size and despite still running green powered up the Sandown hill. The word on the street is Oisin Murphy absolutely adores this filly and with a Oaks entry on her agenda she'll be taking the step up to a trial you would have thought.
She will need to mature very quickly - awfully green today and hung all the way around the bend. Epsom's twists and turns might prove too much for her?
Maybe, but with that engine and the pedigree to improve through the year I think she’s one to keep on the right side of. I think she was given an education today after missing the start, and that might just play well for her season. She’ll learn loads from that.

Reasons to be cheerful :- 1) thanks to SwanHills for suggesting that I'm competent to judge on matters grammatical (yes, of course, 'by whom'). Coincidentally, a retired professor of linguistics at one of our older universities mentioned to me recently that he thought standards were beginning to slip at Chuckle Towers, and we agreed that an apparent compulsion to give SATS-style ratings to canteen meals was never a good thing. 2) I'd just about decided that the USA was an incurable basket-case after their electoral system produced Trump and Hillary as the two shootout candidates for head of state. But the current Zurich Classic Golf tournament (a pairs competition) has produced an entry from J.J. Holmes and Bubba Watson, so clearly there's still hope for the future of the nation. 3) a day that Nass and I agree on something. I thought that Sea of Faith looked a very promising Oaks type at Sandown this afternoon, and I've taken some of the 18s on BF exchange. Provided that Willie leaves the balance/agility training to Maureen rather than supervising it himself, I see no reason why she (SOF, not Mo) shouldn't go to Epsom with a real chance.

Well done indeed, Stick, yet another one again, see what I mean! As I feared, mine today had nowhere near the speed for this, should have fully realised that. Think I will keep a close watch on this Katy Price gelding though; he's due a deserved win IMHO. Just noticed my 'Well done' keys are wearing a bit thin!
Gosden stated after today's race that he was very happy with Sparkle Roll and added that they like her a lot. He confirmed that the Musidora will be her next race.
Well Gosden's horse did win that day, and now he's talking about Private Secretary being his Derby representative.Meanwhile Stoute's Layaleena, who ran no sort of race at Sandown, came out and won yesterday at 9-1: probably because 8f suited her more than 10f. Will Private Secretary be able to make a fist of running at Epsom? I doubt it but it's worth considering the case of Teenoso. In 1983 this maiden colt was touched off in a Haydock handicap on April 2nd.. 4 weeks later he won his maiden at Newmarket and a few weeks after that went to Lingfield and won their trial. So if he can go from a handicap to a Derby win, perhaps Private Secretary can too. For Private Secretary is that he won as a 2yo (which Teenoso didn't) and has that experience, but similarly against him is his lack of an outing since Sandown. He is well-bred being by the best new stallion, Kingman, out of a Darshaan mare. Kingman wouldn't give you the idea that he'd stay the Derby trip but his female line is classy and has plenty of stamina. This is the Rausing A family of Alleluia, Quarter Moon, Alouette, Alborada and Albanova. They often got 12f fairly comfortably.
