You eggsaggerate...bit of a goal mouth scramble when he could have shellacked him, but all he did was poach a wee bit of publicity. The yolk was on Presser John.
Well, my copy arrived and I sent my daughter round to the house to pick it up. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately whichever way you look at it, she took my Grandson who is a keen City supporter he has snaffled it, so I'm having to buy another one.
A copy ordered for my Old man's birthday. I think it's best I read it first to make sure he will like it.
Your son is demonstrating exquisite taste, which reflects well upon your good self, cheshireles. My eldest son is only interested in his dedication in the book and refuses to take any notice of the rest. He's only just turned six but I'm a bit disappointed that he's still insisting on Roald Dahl-penned bedtime stories instead of listening to the exploits of Big Billy, Brabs, Ash and company. I feel like a failure.
If that's your plan, City1904, maybe best to get him another birthday present as it may take until his next birthday to finish it.
I could toss one in there from my mum and dad's house! (I am actually looking to get a couple in Hull libraries, but there's a lot of paperwork to do on that score, it seems.)
My son is also 6 and I fully intend to read him this as his bed time story once my copy arrives (hopefully waiting for me at home today when I get back from work) - he's thankfully City obsessed at the moment and I see the book as a way of keeping this going!
Really well put together. Fair old weight to pick up but hard to put down too. Like that you interviewed the ref from the Emirates game.
I bet there will be some who delight at the picture on page 290. Its a great book. What I find really striking is how many of the players and managers from all the different generations really took Hull to their hearts.
