Football fans are such drama queens. We mullered Sheff Wed, the form team in the division 10 days ago, after cruising to victory at Preston. We were as good as up apparently. Now, We’ve been ready for the knackers yard for months apparently.
I think the players look mentally fatigued and stressed. We have looked out of ideas in the last couple of games and a bit desperate. One goal can change that. Shame no-one can hit a barn door with a banjo to score it, but a spawny deflection can change it all. Mentally it’s tough for the side finishing third in the play offs... but we are a better side than those below us, so I haven’t chucked the towel in yet and more importantly I don’t think bielsa and the players will either.
Morning all I suspect most people on the board would have been delighted if you had said pre-season. We will be in third place going into the play offs. We have seen the team play some great football this season and the potential of the kids is better than we have had for years. It's been a disappointing last few days but we are still in the play offs.
Same old story Loads of possession, poor finishing, missed chances, inept defending, result another loss. Our defence opened up like the Red Sea & Maupey (a proper striker) wallops the ball into the back of our net. Bamford & Roberts had two similar opportunities & fluffed them, story of our season. Positives Cooper Casilla Negatives Powder-puff attack Defensive frailties Dropping Phillips one of our players of the season Our key man Pablo shattered Bielsa polishing turds Bench not good enough Substitutions ineffective as ever Brentford's star play maker didn't play yesterday but still ran rings round us Ratings 7 Casilla 5 Ayling 3 Jansson 7 Cooper n/a Alioski 6 Forshaw 4 Hernandez 3 Klich 4 Roberts 1 Harrison 1 Bamford Subs 6 Dallas 1 Roofe 1 Clarke Our fans Our 1,600 support at Brentford were magnificent last night where the 'Hernandez/Casilla' song must have been sung for a good thirty minutes prior & at the start of the game, then at the end when we all realised our fete the players walked off looking totally dejected to a volume of sound with 'Oh Leeds United we're so delighted we chose you as our football team'. Totally proud of our fans last night, such a shame our players can't replicate our fans dedication. Bees players I would love us to sign for Leeds for next seasons championship campaign Maupay Canos Benrahma
Confirmed Alioski's season over needs operation on torn minuscus. The guy love him or hate him has played every match and more minutes than anyone. Davis will be back in the squad now
That would be fine if we had been in the chasing pack all season but unfortunately for us we lost having this in our hands by failing to keep that automatic spot. This is like a kick in the teeth at the moment and at the moment really downhearted. As usual will pick myself up in a few days but it hurts.
The support as usual are what makes our club, always Leeds and always proud but demoralised at this moment in time
I realise it happened during the game but to me there were doubts about his fitness because Dallas was straight there ready to come on as soon as he went down.
On TV you could see the injury happen and then soon as it happened you could see him signalling to the bench that he was going to have to be subbed. Don't think it was pre-existing but obvs don't know for sure
He already had a bandage on his knee?? I didn't see one get put on when he was injured but there was one when he walked off as per my photo
No drama queen here just a realistic Leeds United fan who watches Leeds week in week out Unconvinced about the run-in for months now, our form has been erratic to say the least plus our squad is not deep enough hence the reason Bielsa rarely changes the first XI even though some of our players are desperately out of form 9 defeats in our last 17 games says it all. Blunts have lost two, Canaries lost one We are & always have been too soft-bellied to sustain a challenge for an automatic spot. Wigan game was the final straw for me. Never fancied us v Brentford as they are a pacy footballing quality side particularly at Griffin Park. I went there in hope but as the game progressed those hopes soon faded Five of us took a hike to see the new Brentford stadium prior to the game
It certainly does hurt Heidi, we go again next season with new hopes & the same desire for our beloved club
Next season? It hasn't changed too much for this season. If we go our last three games unbeaten then we get promoted....
