Just looked at Championship table....hotting up nicely. Be nice to have Norwich back...good fans who brings some colour to matches. Sheffield United....nothing against them apart from not wanting any more red and white shirts....was glad to get rid of Sunderland who kept confusing me by attracting my attention to the TV before I realised they were nobody important #onlysaintsmatter Used to hate Leeds....a lifetime ago....but they have certainly paid their dues. Then come Boro, WBA, and Aston Villa....though their position in the play offs isn't that secure.

Not forgetting Bristol City, who might just sneak into the playoffs. WBA are interesting, the only team in the EFL with two 20+ goal strikers, one of whom is of course our very own Jay Rodriguez.

Rumour going around that Burnley want Jay back in the summer so hopefully he gets another crack at the premier league......always liked Jay (though his brother is a dick on Twitter).

    Indeed, only Saints really matter.
But that's an odd thing about Leeds. My memories go back to the late 60s and the way they set about other teams, so the dislike became well embedded, when those things mattered. But it's completely gone. And I think for two reasons. 1] when Lambert lashed in that volley, in one of the cleanest strikes of the ball I think I've even seen. Assisted by Tadanari Lee, Cork and Chaplow. And then Kelvin Davis gave his best performance of his career to keep them out. That took most of the sting out of my dislike. It was payback. And 2] Marcelo Bielsa, of whom I would have had at Saints in a heartbeat, during the Pellegrino/Hughes times. I would like to see how one of his teams do in the PL. One thing, I don't think they'd be dull.

Good forbid Leeds miss out on the autos as the way Aston Villa are playing, it reminds of West Ham in 2011-12 when they finished the season in a rich vein of form and continued into the play-offs. If Leeds miss the autos they will feel downbeat.

To be honest Ides I don't think Villa are going to make up the 10 point gap in the last 3 games.

I was alluding to the fact that they are carrying good form into the play-offs, and the momentum they have will be unstoppable, There are parallels with West Ham in 2011-12 as they had momentum ending the regular season and entering the play-offs.

I was just teasing you. Anyway Aston Villa are one of the better teams, but pretty reliant on Grealish, so I don't know if they are ready for the PL. But Grealish will do well for Spurs, you'll be glad to hear.

I thought Tammy Abraham was their key player as he has certainly provided the bullets provided by Grealish. But is Grealish good enough for Spurs, although there has been plenty of columns inches regarding their interest. If VIlla go up, he may well stay. And with Spurs in the CL semi, they may decide to go more up-market. Isco?

Luton on 90 points and sitll not up. Two more wins wil do it for them. Further down two from three teams are going to miss out on very high totals. I feel Pompey will finish with 87 or 88 points and the 3rd placed on 90 plus, and could well miss out on the Wembley final to the team in 6th finishing some 16 points beihind.

Sunderland and the Skates next week could be the decider if Barnsley slip up.

My head is telling me Sunderland will get second place, and there is no need for Barnsley to slip up because if either Pompey or Sunderland get máximum points from their remaining matches, they secure promotiion.

Biggest shock of the weekend is the pathetic Real Madrid somehow winning 3-0 against Athletic Bilbao. Must be suspect referring allowing Real to score three goals against such a noble and talented team like Atheltic. Actually I am just disappointed at the scoreline, and that Inaki Williams didn't score as I feel sure he would improve the Spanish team. Maybe there is discrimination in action here as he is surely better than any other Spanish forward. Just doesn't play for one of the glamour teams.

Pompey have beaten Coventry. They've got momentum at precisely the right time.
