I have a cultured left foot. Play me as a wingback and you can expect me putting in some raking crosses from that leftwing. Don't expect me to get back if we're hit on the counter, though. So, Commie had better be on his toes.
My ankle would give me problems but I'd play through because I'm hard I'd then whine like a bitch for the following 2 weeks
I miss playing, Wednesday was ex-pat football day in Ibiza, best day of the week. Hired the local 3g pitch in San Ann and people would arrive from all over the Island. Had some decent players, our spanish gardner used to play with us, he was 55 and shocked us all when he turned everyone inside out, turned out he was an Ibicencan football legend for scoring twice for SD Eivissa v Real Madrid in a cup game in the 70's. We also had a few former schoolboys from Man U, Celtic & Millwall. Great fun, we even played one serious game v 'Ze Germans', who we beat 4-1.
You live in Ibiza? ****ing love that place. I hate the old town (party central) but I have a nice little chill spot near Chelsea Romans own island (house).
lived there for about 12 years all told, went there from Malaga in 94, due to 'police issues'. Did a couple of summers then made enough money to stay a winter (there's not much work for about 8 months, but rent drops sharply), and then just stayed after that, mainly around Port des Torrent and Cala Bassa, close enough to San Ann for work and socialising, but far enough away for a big chill. Came back in '08.
Do you know where I mean though? Terrible with names as the Mrs used to do all the booking etc. I used to go to the coast overlooking Romans island every couple of years, beautiful place. The people were sooo friendly. The main tourist place doesn't do it for me in the slightest, but great place to go other than that.
I don't, but there's plenty of places like that, the whole Island is beautiful. San Antonio is a bit of a blot, but it's pretty small, probably not even a mile square. The hotels on the bay road don't extend back from there, so behind them are a few farms and then rolling hills and forest. There's secluded coves, where no tourist go, everywhere. Didn't really know much about it when I went there tbh, just that there were a lot of Germans for me to blag into taxis for timeshare I was pleasantly surprised at how green and fertile it was (it's the only balearic island with a river). I did live in San Antonio for a summer, my liver didn't like it. Yeah, the Ibicencans are great, friendly and open, but a bit greedy, whole place is bent as **** too.
Turned out for Norwich city London supporters club for a season or two in the early 90s. Central midfield but in reality ended up hounding the opposition's best player for 90 minutes. Would be hard pushed to last 10 minutes these days though do play walking football occasionally.
You will be telling us next that our 1969 Fairs Cup win is the same as a Europa League win just because the format has changed.
