City need 5/5 and it’s not certain although quite probable. We’ve done what we can. We need extra time midweek and a spurs fight next weekend. Whatever happens, we’ve done amazingly....f#cking top team

 

Thought we were right on our game today even if didn't fully click first half. The only worry was after we went 2 up we left ourselves open till we got our heads together and just controlled the ball.
Performances were good all over the pitch but a shout out for TAA who has had some poor games of late but today was fine though possibly helped by Hazard being wasted as a CF .
Loved our first goal even if Mo's strike was more spectacular.
Now totally pissed and wondering if @DirtyFrank is popping in for views

 

Have to say as a critique of Horrenderson his last three games have been good,maybe we have now found a combo that suits him?
We got carried away with our second goal and went a bit mad chasing a third,thankfully we realised we needed to stop the harem and scarem pace and settled back down,PHEW!

 

always better in that position ( even @Jimmy Squarefoot thought so ) as in DM position always played "safe" i.e. don't give the ball away , yet he is a decent passer and has an incisive pass in him but needs to feel that he is free to do so.

 

I hope he enjoyed the game with a gourmet meal self prepared and some quality beveragss

Yep.
The Suarez team was good, but too heavily reliant on him and a handful of others - now we have quality throughout.
We really do need to see it bring success though, in order to keep them together and maintain momentum.

 

I've always maintained that he was a decent player just doing the job he'd been told to do, and that the criticism was harsh.
All the #footballgeniuses on here disagreed.

 

We could be mid-table with nothing to play for, I'd still want us to win. Don't give a **** what others teams are doing unless it effects our season (ie, we need Man City to **** up)

 

He was great in that role during the Suarez season.

 

Henderson’s best attribute is his energy. Obviously his passing is up there and has other aspects to his game but he’s best when he can go up and down in midfield and use that energy. Playing in a deeper role just wasn’t best for him, especially as he’s not the best in the tackle. He wants to chase the ball which is fine in his current role but not when last man in midfield.

Souness said it wel when he said in that DM role you need to be disciplined as there will be times you want to go win the ball but know you can’t as if you don’t get there you leave the team exposed. That’s where Fabinho is very good in that position

also though Matip was brilliant today. Once or twice got dragged in and turned by hazard but on the whole, won everything in the air and brought the ball forward nicely.
