What a game, what a game, what a game. I originally said we'd win by 2 goals, I was half right, but you could see 5 minutes after kickoff this was going to be a game where 1 goal nicks it. Sheffield Wed came to play football, they had too being 6 points adrift of 6th playoff spot, while they didn't threaten as much as most thought they would, there football, and defending was very good. They had a couple of good breaks they should've took advantage of and done better, but they didn't. Blades fans are slagging Wednesday players off for not being good enough, but Blades conceded a last minute goal to draw with Millwall, so they can't really talk, but hypocrisy is alive and well in Sheffield. We played some good football in patches, but need to be more consistent with it. We had 28 shots at goal, with only 6 on target and 1 went in......not good enough despite it being a nail biting game to watch........those stats show we have a striker problem, big time. Credit to our defence, and keeper, Owls had only 8 shots, with 2 on target. Kiko didn't have a lot to do, but when he was called into action he did his job well with a couple of good saves to boot. Roberts didn't have a bad game, I say not a bad game cos he was playing individually a lot, this happens with some players who are starved of goals. He should've passed at times instead of shooting, and he needs to stop the fancy footwork resulting in the ball going nowhere. Individuals being greedy at times can have a detrimental effect on game. Same with Harrison, he and Roberts were very similar type players v Wednesday. Harrison gets greedy in patches and should pass earlier and/or to someone in a better position, and he needs to stop the fancy footwork and get on with game, it gets him in trouble a lot and he loses ball. Ayling is another one trying the fancy footwork instead of getting it across, or pass quicker. While these players are playing at being Pele, the opposition defence have more time to get back and crowd their area. Bamford for me shouldn't be in team, too slow, too lightweight and his football brain is slower than others. Some Leeds fans are slagging Berardi off saying he was crap, amongst other things, I thought he had a good game for someone out for 6 months. Berardi doesn't know any other way to play other than giving 100% with every inch of his heart. Wainmanjoe echos my opinion......so those Leeds fans can go take a long jump off a short pier. Phillips had a better game than normal, I wouldn't say it was a MOM performance, but it was better than his normal sideways passing displays....Against PNE he made 29 sideways passes, and 12 forward passes, 5 of those passes never reached our players, and a couple were way too long. So I'm quite happy to say he played a better game, but definitely not a MOM performance.........and I couldn't give two hoots what you usual suspects say........you watch a game, I read a game. The next two games can decide if we are promoted before end of season or not. 3 points clear doesn't leave Sheff U out of it, and we need to score more with 28 shots. 1 loss by us can let Sheff U back in the hunt. Having said that, are Sheff U now feeling the psychological pressure with 2 draws in their last 2 games. Doesn't matter if Norwich win the league, as long as we claim second place, but Norwich can still be caught Enjoy. 5 mins of highlights. Thought Roberts was MOM myself, even though he could have done better passing on a couple of occasions and I think we will see a goal or 2 from him before the end ofbthe season. Missing Saiz? No me neither. Roofe was not effective when he came on and his 25 yard attempt was crazy and smacks of desperation. The substitution worked though because Harrison scored straight away. Westwood stopped a rout in the first half and also thought Steve Bruce was honest and a gent. What a day
