Judging by the starting XI, I would say the Pochettino cause of
it was injury "necessity is the mother of invention" rather than 'in
the entire squad I trust' for certain PL games.

Tottenham's Lucas Moura speaking to Sky Sports: "That's my job, to help my team and score some goals because a striker needs to score. I practise all the time and I'm so happy today because I did very well, good passes, good finishes and if we play like this as a team we can win a lot of things.

"It was a good combination from everyone, good possession, I need good movements to receive a good ball and that's why I need to be in a good position and today I think I did that very well.

"Now we have a good battle in Manchester, we need from now to recover for this game and prepare very well. It will be so hard there but if we play like we did today we can go there and get a good result and we can qualify."

Tottenham's Victor Wanyama speaking to Match of the Day: "I think today we started well and everyone was on to it and I'm glad we got the maximum points. It was important to get that fast goal to break them down, once we got that they were more open and we got our chances. I'm going to enjoy it, it's a special goal for me.

"Lucas has been fantastic, whenever he gets chances he tries to help the team. Everyone expected us to win but these games are very dangerous and we need to be focused. The team today was very organised and we tried to focus on our task and we did that well"

I'll agree with that except the part about a dangerous match, it was NEVER in doubt.

I'd prefer to wait until the Palace v City result tomorrow but as it stands I'm going for a 1-2 on Wednesday.

I also won't undermine the hat trick by Lucas because it was only Huddersfield........no.

    More guarantees, eh?

Perhaps your right, DGC. We’ll score tonnes without Kane, and the fact we were playing Huddersfield today has nothing to do with it.
Should easily bang 3 or 4 past City and enjoy having the ball for most of the game.

Roo, that was Huddersfield's heaviest defeat since Chelsea on the second of Feb so will you please stop saying it's only Huddersfield.

There's no perhaps, we do score more without Kane, today proves it. I've already stuck my head on the block by saying 1-2 on Wednesday but depending on what happens tomorrow. If City draw or lose I'm confident of a win for us.

Huddersfield's boss said we are stronger without Kane, I posted the quote, someone said reverse psychology or something..............cobblers to that.

The fact that it was Huddersfield helped I think. He did go down a few times looking injured but got up to carry on so his body seems strong. Hard to compare today’s intensity to what awaits us on Wednesday.

Superb goal though...I’d have him on the bench to replace Moussa once he has run his legs off for the cause against City.

Would you play Llorente on Wednesday?

I thought he was more intelligent with his hold up play than Kane because he got the ball, gave it and ran for the box. I’m afraid if that was Kane...chances are he would turn and run himself....thus nullifying our attacking 3.

Llorente gave the ball and ran into the box to make himself into an option. This is what I mean by Kane needs to educate himself and maybe we can have a team where Kane and our 3 attackers also prosper

Lovely goal by Wanyama. Class hat-trick from Moura.
Llorente looking like he can ask the Citeh defence some
    questions next week.

I would play Llorente. I've seen him before miss a few but it doesn't last, he soon puts them away. Wednesday's tailor made for him

Im not denying that we can’t cope without Kane, and others flourish. I’ve said that before.
But we were only playing Huddersfield. And no, I’m not going to stop saying “it was only Huddersfield”. They are rock bottom for a reason. It took them about 70 minutes before they even had an attack at our goal. They’ve won 3 games all season and are one of the worst sides the premier league has ever seen.
You may want to sell him, but my point from Tuesday was to keep an eye on how we play without him to appreciate what he does. IIRC, others were also saying that today’s game was nothing to go on.
A decent side who actually cause us some problems will show that we miss many attributes that Kane has.
