I just watched again the video CTWD reps presented to the FA in defence of the name change. If the Allam's has used these same people to argue their case we would probably be called Hull Tigers now. What an excellent presentation.
In the course of writing my book, it has become apparent to me how many incredibly talented fans Hull City have, who are willing to use their talents for the betterment of the club. Sadly, the chasm between club and much of the fan base means that the there is very little crossover there. There are people such as James Richardson and the people who did the above film who are terrific at the video side of things. Les Motherby's kit stuff, Martin Batchelor's programme project, the respective databases run by Matt Wales and Mike Scott, and tons more stuff. It's all fantastic. I'd imagine that they're happy working independently, and I think that Les has linked with the club on a couple of matters, I just think that Hull City could achieve so much if the club were to embrace and help to nurture such projects and talents.
One poignant comment, the club chooses you, not the other way round, unlike the Allams, there in a nutshell is our current problem and malaise!
I couldn't agree more Richard, and it just goes to show how stupid the Allam's really are. There is a source of talent there, which if they had any sense they would tap into it.
I don't recall seeing that video before. It made me sad and very angry. The Sally Furness quote at the beginning in particular is so poignant. Angry not at the video, but at the Allams. For a while, I thought that too. It seemed that Ehab started taking more and more of the negative attention and flack as he moved increasingly into the limelight, and Assem somehow almost became the good guy (relatively speaking) in many people's eyes. But this just isn't true. It's Assem that started, built and continued this whole **** storm. It's him who made the biggest lies and broken promises. Behind the scenes, he's still pulling the strings on the big issues. Ehab is a **** no doubt. Assem is worse. IMO.
