ap Apart from the opening 40 seconds this was in truth a poor match. The back four at times put Marshall under pressure with loose back passes and up front I had as much power as a sinclair spectrum (thats a really old computer). Nevertheless, there were some flashes of brilliance from Earnshaw and it was great to see Gerrard score if only for the celebration afterwards. I would like to see us play with a bit more tenacity especially against the likes of Leicester and Southampton.
