Agents are like recruitment agents. Some good, some bad.

Some people need them, some do not.

Suggestions the money they get could be used by the FA/EFL is quite hilarious though. Some of you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

First off, they're already sitting on a huge comfy bed of cash they don't want to put into the things mentioned above.

Second up, if the clubs weren't paying that money to the agents, why do you think they'd suddenly think handing it over to the appaling run FA/EFL would be a fab idea?

Thirdly, they're getting a fraction of what the players get. Which is also obscene.

Football is awash with cash in certain areas. The people who dip out the most, and are paying for it all, are us, the fans.

Are agents a problem? Sure. Are they the biggest problem in the game? **** no. The governing bodies are.

Employing a solicitor would be a good place for a player to start. Look at the money being taken out of the game by these parasites.

As long as there’s money to be made by agents they’ll continue hawking players around like prostitutes. It would be interesting to measure those best interests you claim they have at heart if the fees were fixed and regulated. Then we’d see their true colours.

Because solicitors don't charge an arm and a leg for their services?

The actual clubs, and the governing bodies, refuse to fix and regulate the cost of going to watch a game, so they're sure as hell never going to do that for player's movements.

Looking at this one aspect of everything that's wrong with football is barmy imo.

The main thing we need is governing bodies who act in the interest of fans and by association, football itself. Not owners/shareholders/themselves like they currently do.

I cant cant justify that for the ones at the top of the ladder and I wouldn't try too. But the fees that the agents take at lower levels are much smaller.

Similarly if you are a footballer why would you do all the work yourself when you can employee someone to do it? It's not a cost effective use of their time.

Agreed, but then the footballer should pay for it

Then they would just ask for more wages..... Clubs would still end up paying for it.
