I hope he goes down. Back in the days of the old BBC606, I remember venting my disgust at these scavengers. They have very little regard for their "product" and manage to cream a fortune from all ends of a deal. I suppose there's some comfort in the fact that noises are now being made that players only will be responsible for angent fees. However, I'd prefer to see the end of these pariahs in the game and perhaps players could use the money to get an education so they can manage their own affairs.
Of course, in this case my thoughts are once again with the family. They must be going through hell.

I think this one will take longer to sort out than Brexit.

It’s surprising City had anything to do with him. One would expect a PL club to do due diligence on these types.

City are being tarnished by their association with a man of dubious business repute. It doesn’t look good to the outside world and if I’m being frank to us loyal supporters.

If I'm reading what you're saying correctly, sorry Nin but I disagree.

Nantes engaged him to do a job on their behalf - he was not acting in the interests of CCFC in any respect, just Nantes and for his own personal gain. The fact that we dealt with Nantes through him is an embarrassment now that the events surrounding Emeliano's transfer have been laid bare, but that cannot be levelled as a criticism of CCFC.

We probably did what any other club interested in the player would have in the same circumstances. Whilst CCCF are far from squeaky clean in all this, it would have been less "journo friendly" if another more established club without Warnock and his past history as their manager were involved.

If anything positive does come out of this, then it should be the massive exposure in the media of the vicarious goings on behind the scenes by agents and the often obscene money being milked out of the game.

Unfortunately, none of that will help Emeliano Sala and his family right now, but hopefully this awful tragedy and the greed that contributed toward it can be prevented in the future.

I posted on the basis City had some ‘relationship’ with him but if not then what I said is not pertinent.

However if there is any tangential contact between City and him then it was somewhat unfortunate

Nin - there were suggestions in the Daily Mail that there was a degree of "collusion" between Warnock and the McKay family over City's signing of McKay's twin sons Jack and Paul. A Mail journo hack was trying to create a story by putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 in the fallout over the Sala transfer.

It was also suggested that Bamba (also a McKay client) coming here at the start of the 2016/7 season was in some way linked to his son's moves here. The fact that Bamba had his contract cancelled by Leeds for criticising their then owner Cellino and was a actually a free agent who came to us for nothing was conveniently ignored.

There appears to be nothing concrete in all this other than Warnock and McKay were known to each other previously. Once again what is conveniently ignored is that McKay was known to practically every other football manager in the entire Football League so there was nothing unique in that.

How all that made Cardiff in any way responsible for the Sala tragedy is ludicrous. I can't see Tan, Dalman and Choo having anything to do with backhand dealings, though there is no doubt that agents will attempt to grease the palms of some in this industry to line their own pockets.

Ah well guys - it's all kicking off on the Saints board about Sala again. It's on their "Premier League" thread if anyone wants to contribute - I've said my piece but no doubt there'll be more.

I've tried reasoning and holding back, but I'm afraid I'm going to lose it with some of the feckers shortly.....<laugh>

As is often said, you can't educate pork, particularly when it's dead from the neck up. <ok>

'ang on a minute - it seems to have calmed down a bit over there after HR put in an appearance with a plea for calm. <laugh>.

They've started talking about our game tonight which is what the thread is all about - it's been quite a decent thread really until some pillock raise the Sala issue again.

Don't know why they need to keep raising the topic without knowing any detail.

All most technical, lots of small print which can mean unless this is settled commercially it’ll be a lengthy dispute resolution exercise.

There was a name mentioned some time ago. Think he'd flown Colin out to watch Sala when negotiations were on going.

Will certainly have ramifications with regard our situation.

Should have far reaching consequences in relation to other "illegal" flights. Pilots might think twice.

A David Henderson, 60, from Nottingham, was apparently employed to fly the plane but passed the gig on to the unfortunate Ibbotson, who was in financial difficulties. So says the media report I found.

Those details don't appear to fit with the info on the person arrested. It will all come out in the wash.
