I have sympathy with our current MPs.
They are faced with what is probably the biggest decision Parliament has ever made.
First of all let's set the record straight.
In a democracy the winner takes all.
If you don't vote, don't whinge if you don't like the result.
So in the referendum a binary choice was on the slip IN or OUT for 46.5 million voters.
    37% voted LEAVE
    34% VOTED REMAIN

So 63% voted Remain; spoiled their ballot papers or for whatever reason didn't vote.

After three years of negotiation, it's pretty obvious that our team of top drawer Civil Servants, couldn't better the EU's team and come up with a deal which satisfies a majority in the House.
I don't presume to be totally conversant with all of the detail of the options on offer, but l am confident that by now, our MPs are pretty well sussed out.
I do realise now how little information was available when such an important decision was made in 2016.

Subsequent events have complicated the situation.
Teresa May called an election which caused loss of her majority.
The majority parties committed to Brexit in their manifestos

Mrs May set red lines, played her cards close to her chest and Joe Public and pretty much everyone in Parliament were kept in the dark throughout negotiation with the EU.
Parliament has made it clear that a No Deal Brexit is not an option.

The EU has institutional rules which contravene Britain's requirements for an orderly Brexit.

So any deal requires a compromise.

And, more importantly Joe Public has at last a clearer idea of what Brexit really means.

We have had three goes at the EU's acceptance of Teresa May's deal. All rejected.
Indicative voting has failed to discover an acceptable solution.
She has now agreed to a further extension to enable discussions with Labour.
She will not permit Joe Public, who now is much more aware of the consequences, a vote to confirm their views.
    She cannot revoke article 50.

As it stands our MPs are forced to honour their Manifestos by agreeing to choose the least worse option. Whereas we should be directing them to select the best option.

And of course the usual suspects come to the fore.
    General Election
    Scottish Independence
    Oust the PM...

Remain lied. Project fear was lies. MP's elected on lies in their manifestos.

I know Red Alert. I don't think you've read my post properly. My point was that it wasn't lies they were found guilty for. It was massive illegal use of data and overspending, amongst other reasons. So the lies are irrelevant.

Although now you mention it, aside from the 'recession straight after the referendum' (which I can't find a quote for), no one can ever point out these remainer lies. What were they?

A General Election is the only way we will have any movement in my opinion. With the DUP holding the Tories by the bollocks, even without the leave/remain split, the Tories would struggle to get anything through Parliament, so we need to break the deadlock.

The problem is, May is far too stubborn to do anything about it, and with Labour doing better in the polls recently, she's terrified of having an even worse result. This, combined with completely unnecessarily delaying the Parliamentary votes from December to March, shows that she is more concerned about her own position than the future of the bloody country.

I'm not saying it would be an easy choice of vote for anybody but a GE must happen soon in my opinion. Once again, she's delaying the inevitable.

There were lots but I cant think of any on the top of my head but remainers are still lying even today. Lies about no medication will enter the country from abroad if we leave. No food will come in. The motorways will become a car park. All scaremongering.

You are right about no other real policies but I don't think that will really matter to a lot of people because they are so angry about the betrayal of the majority of parliament that people will vote for UKIP to make Brexit happen and not even think about other policies. I reckon if there were an election today, UKIP would get more votes than the election before the referendum result.

Not sure where the talks between May and Corbyn stand but won't it be great having Diane Abbott's contribution left right and centre.

It's a massive exaggeration but people have been alluding to the possibility of riots whichever way Brexit goes. There's no doubt the threat of violence and terrorism is increasing as a result of this. I do appreciate WW3 is bloody hyperbolic though. Cameron was a muppet anyway to be fair.

Deleted the image for space saving but my word. What is that. <laugh>

'Control Immigration Properly' - How they plan to achieve this without putting a border up in Ireland is beyond me.
'Spend an extra £3bn on the NHS' - According to Goldman, Brexit has already cost us £600m per week
'Introduce direct democracy' - I don't think even they know what this means.

I can get behind scrapping income tax on minimum wage and stopping getting involved in utterly pointless wars though. :emoticon-0148-yes:

My favourite though has been the image doing the rounds on Facebook. 'Kick out immigrants - Bring back hanging - Watch Britain thrive' or something along those lines. Must have been written by a child.

Dear Diane Abacus is on the side of remain now, just like bedfellow Mr Corbyn who was once a fervent Euro-septic.
    You can't make it up.

Junker, according to the video, knows the balance of power in the House of Commons.
It's 74% remain - wtf is he talking about.
Just like he says 'a no deal looks likely'. Not a flaming chance - more's the pity.
    Just bloody scaremongering.
He /they'll do absolutely anything to delay, frustrate and ultimately stop Brexit.

We've got Mrs May, our equivalent Neville Chamberlain going over again to beg some more.
    Grow some Remainers.

I can confirm first hand that there is a shortage already on medication. My wife takes Neproxyn for migraines and she could not get any for love or money the other week with all chemist out of them. That’s just one type so I suspect more than just that was in shortage. And the chemist and doctors all said it was because of what’s going on.

I’m not trying to convince or anything just saying what I’ve experianced. Also I’m in heavy materials construction and we are starting to see slow down in certain sectors. However I suspect that one is just uncertainty.
