Love him or hate him, I love his passion for the game at his age! Cardiff suffered from some bloody horrible decisions yesterday. He didn't confront the officials after the game though in his after match interviews has said some bang on comments about the quality of officials in The Premier League. It'll be interesting to see if he's hit with challenge by The Premier League regarding his comments. I don't think anyone could have been more reserved immediately post match given the potential implications for both him and his club.
He will be charged and fined. He's obviously right about the big clubs getting the benefit of dodgy decisions, we've been on the receiving end plenty of times, but it's unlikely to change.
Further highlights the benefits of VAR, especially if the officials find a way to use it whilst keeping fans 'in the loop' and making decisions as fast as possible so as to not disrupt the flow of the game. Inevitable in the top league, and potentially second tier leagues given the financial implications.
Will VAR solve these errors. I've got my doubts. One man's penalty is another man's fair tackle e.g. Conor Townsend for WBA. But in general the refs are frightened to penalise the big clubs. City v. Liverpool is a prime example when Turner was pushed. Not once but twice.
And what about the penalty awarded at White Hart Lane when the ball hit Elmo's arm as he was jumping 2 feet away from the Spurs player ! The big teams always get the decisions against the small teams
I don't believe it will totally solve errors, but if used correctly should be supportive of helping refs make the right decisions. I just hope that it doesn't disproportionately stop the flow of the game
There have been 6 replies to this thread so far and not one of them has called Warnock a ****. I felt the need to put that right. Warnock is a ****.
VAR is bollocks. It spoils the continuity of the game and plays into the hands of moaning twats. If players didn’t cheat so much you wouldn’t need it anyway.
You’ve just hit the nail on the head with that one sentence & the reasons why it is needed, it’ll also help with **** decisions by the officials that they can get away with now, like yesterday!
VAR is ****. It's killing our game. Warnock is an dyed-in- the-wool oinker and will thus always be a ****, although I concede less of a one than he used to be. It's fun to hear him squeal though. Cardiff are **** and will be relegated. The PL is **** and always will be as long as money calls the shots, and the media fellate the oligopoly clubs who wish to maintain the present status quo.
Better than VAR would be to retrospectively punish cheating ****ers, even when they’re entitled to go down.
i'm far from convinced. i've watched us have the most absymal decisions given agains us when we were struggling and the i've watched us get away with ridiculous things when we were doing well.
