Baffling decision, considering they aren't exactly overloading on strikers!

Ba was scoring goals, that goes without saying... but whether he can keep up that form over an extended period is something we are yet to find out. Personally, I don't think that Wenger gave Bendtner the opportunity to show off his abilities when he was at Arsenal, I think if he had then Bendtner would have scored goals and definitely improved as a striker. I rate him, many don't.

In Whickham's case, his record was far from prolific... but he has only this year turned 18 and even at that age was managing to score goals in the Championship and looks like a real hot England prospect.

Obviously though, I've seen little of Ba for us and he could prove to be a good acquisition for the club. If that's the case then I'll happily admit that I under-estimated him.

I agree that Bendtner wasn't exactly showered with opportunity at Arsenal. Who knows, you could just be right. I'll stick by Ba though personally, was happy to see him arrive and I still see him pulling off a good run soon.

I think Bendtner will do well, he gets like 7 goals a season not playing regularly, so could be a 15 goal a season striker.

shocking news gyan is quality when he is on form, he was european player of the year before he came to sunderland. he is inconsistant but he is a real threat not really a natural born goal scorer but a creative forward. i dont understand a loan deal though? he must really want to leave or the club most really want rid, sunderland get nothing out of this loan. if he wanted to leave why not just sell him so they can reinvest instead of letting their record signing and best striker leave on loan :/

According to Steve Bruce he shook hands with him and agreed he was fully committed to Sunderland just two days before he left. Bruce seemed pretty pissed off about it in his post match interview.

You have to admit you would be too. I think only he knows what he was doing.

Still unprofessional to say it in public, unless he generally believes he won't be there when the loan finishes.

Why? Ba is a good player - just not started off well - not too keen on Best but he scoring atm. Wickham has potential but won't do anything in Prem for a season or 2 and Bendtner believes he is best striker in the world when really he is pretty average

Yeah Bruce obviously has the right to be pissed off, totally **** thing to do - worse than what Bent did technically. Or at least would be worse if Gyan scored regular goals.

Pffft, for as long as it gets Sunderland some negative media for once. To stop their fans from gloating. I'd quite happily listen to Bruce airing his dirty laundry in public! <laugh>

Quite a lot of empty seats at the SOS, looks like some fans have done their talking by walking.
