Souness is right though. We have to step up. Our last 2 matches were wins but we relied a lot on luck. We have to get back to our early season form. City are winning their matches with confidence.

This was our toughest match on paper but we don’t our last matches to get tougher and tougher.

Man City have basically won 4 of their last 6 games with "luck" like we got today.

 

That 2 on 1 was stacked against Spurs. They would need a 3 on 1 to perhaps register a shot on target

Some of their goals may well have been lucky but their wins were mostly not last ditch and last minute goal to get these 3 points like us.

Their wins seem to be secured well before the end of the match.

 

IMO a GK throwing it in after 5 minutes is luckier than after 90, takes away the pressure

So city have to play Utd and Spurs - neither of whom can afford to drop points. We have Chelsea still to play who are in the sale position.

City also have a tougher CL draw and the FA cup to worry about.

Today’s win was absolutely massive!

 

I dont buy this lucky stuff just because the goals came late. You are given 90 mins to win a game. It is just many want comfortable wins but the reason we watch football is for moments like today.

Goalies are making errors as we are forcing the issue. It is up to them to make sure we do not capitalize.

 

But if they win midweek and are top of table again...

in the end it's one step. a big one but our next 3 games are huge.

I am hoping we hockey Porto at home following a standard easy win v saints and can focus on Chelsea fully.

 

They will win midweek. The point I was trying to make was that by beating Spurs, we should have made it harder for City against them. All we can do now is win every game and hope that they drop points somewhere.

I think the ref and lino today made city's job a few percentage points harder v Cardiff. but then again same for us a couple weeks time.

for sure spurs are now in a dogfight for 3rd and 4th or 5th and 6th ... unbelievable form even for me who wrote them off before Christmas. hopefully they can at least make city work for it.

 

They’re decent. Hopefully they’ll give City a run for it. I really hope that Utd have to win to get top 4 when they play them - they’d throw it if they could.
