Excellent. Now if Sunderland can hold on and Spurs can get the nail ready for us to hammer into Liverpool’s title coffin, that would make a wonderful Footy weekend.
Cardiff are gonna finish about 15th in the Championship next year. Probably still ahead of Huddersfield though.
Despite the being one of our relegation rivals, I’m truly disgusted by that result. **** refereeing has possibly cost them their Premiership place. No justice in that. I hate the idea of VAR because they will end up giving a subjective view on hairline decisions but in this case, any idiot could have given Cardiff the penalty and spotted the offside for Chelsea’s goal. Poor refereeing is destroying this game! As someone else intimated, our results alone should see us stay up so a Cardiff win would not really have hurt us.
Meh, Chelsea had 21 shots, so I don't think you get to complain that much when the one that went in was offside.
That is ultimately down to how VAR is implemented over time (eg there is no reason why VAR has to lead to such subjective decisions being overturned). Although, as you say, in this situation it can be hardly be called subjective. But I'm pleased to see that you're unhappy at Cardiff's misfortunate, rather than laughing at it. I didn't really bat an eye-lid at the Watford handball goal against last season, because I've long accepted that until VAR comes in, bad refereeing decisions will happen. They're human, live with it people. One week will we suffer, the next week someone else will suffer. But I very much seemed to be in a minority, because the general view on here was one of absolute enrage. Now fair enough, I understand why people would feel that way - but just as long as it works both ways and they are equally enraged when a decision goes against a rival (and thus, by definition, goes for us).
Over the last 24 hours the internet has come to the conclusion that we are not the main team in the relegation battle with Cardiff, and now Neil Warnock has agreed. "They don't realise what is at stake. If I was a Burnley or a Brighton fan, they will be absolutely loving it today.' Not getting ahead of myself here, but well done Ralph, we look very capable now.
Let's remember we were doomed after surrendering a lead at home TO Chelsea this time last year as well and we stayed up so don't think it's over yet ... It's not looking good though.
Amazing that I have sympathy for Cardiff today. Chelsea are such a detestable football club. The players are not happy, they want rid of Sarri, so they down tools. We've seen it all before, a few times. The ref has let that club off the hook today, but it takes nothing away from the shame. What a bunch of selfish cowards. Probably don't give a damn because most are looking for the exit. Jose should go back, that is surely is a match made in football haven.
Tough decisions for Cardiff...when you are down, you get no luck. However, not hypocritical enough to say I mind that they lost.
My first choice would still be Brighton or Burnley to go down, but Cardiff being cut adrift at least would make for a more relaxed last few weeks of the season
