Folks have you heard Bruces post match comments re Gyan...He states that all was fine 48 hrs earlier with Gyan making a commitment to the club, then he goes on to state that in the last 12 hrs off he goes to the UAE "LEAVING THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD, IL LEAVE YOU ALL TO DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS"

Seems to me the little bastard has held the club to ransom, lets get a permanant deal sorted quick and offload him off the books, Iam bloody pig sick of players shafting our club

Mr Bruce concluded his comments by stating "IAM GUTTED"

Personally, I'd have done a Harry Redkanpp on his ass and made him play or left him to rot until January.

If, and it's a BIG if Bruce is telling the whole truth there then it's absolutely shocking of Gyan and his timing is terrible. Turn the clocks back a few weeks and he could have been sold in the window and we could have bought another striker.

Im pleased he has gone i saw nothing at the friendly at Burnley i saw nothing from him at Liverpool i have been away for two weeks so missed the next two games. His body language told me he was not happy or even trying.

Now the biggest dissappointment IS the club new all this weeks ago so Bruce has no excuses if things go tits up, Ill stand by him but i have little sympathy if it goes wrong.

Any new manager appointed will want to gut the team again can Short afford another dig into his pocket

There is something wrong here..."draw your own conclusions"...I cant! Whats the motivation of a player to leave the Premier League and play in a pub league? Money? But surely he realises he s effectively giving up football for a season?

Our only hope now is for Bruce to somehow say to the players, "ok all the nonsense is out of the way, lets focus on the football with a decent honest bunch of players"

The lying b**tard!!!!! "Mr. Bruce" is quoted on SAFC.com this morning as saying Gyan hasn't been right for months, and that the loan deal is the best thing for all parties concerned. He's also quoted as saying he looks forward to bringing Gyan back next year.

I haven't seen Bruce's post-match comments, but if he's lied like this I want him gone by midnight. He's openly contradicted what he said earlier today. What does he think we are ... f**cking idiots? The lying tw*t.

My conclusion is Bruce is covering his tracks, just like his comments about Gyan wouldn't be welcomed back.

It sounds to me that Gyan has been a bit of a twat...Call Bruce what you want regarding tactics etc. But He has always been very honest as far as I'm concerned.

RAW,if Bruce is so very honest,he should admit that he is out of his depth, inept with his transfer dealings, and should resign now.His match-day e-mail is the usual rubbish. He says that we could easily have nicked a point, and that our early fixtures have been against us.What twaddle!!

maybe there was an element of, Bruce thought he d sorted it out with Gyan yesterday, then Short/Quinn receive some sort of offer they cant refuse like a large "loan-fee", and pull the rug from under Bruce. The question is , who actually WANTED Gyan to go the Southern Premier Leage equiv, and why? Was it Gyan for Money? Bruce to get rid of a disruptive player, a distraction? Or Quinn/Short for a short term financial gain? As intruiging as the Bent Hotel room saga? What do you think?

Mr RAW. I agree that, whether we think he's capable or not, he has always come across as a genuine bloke. But if biffa's got his post-match comments right, he's blatantly lied to us today.

The weird thing is, the team he has went to, finished 3rd from bottom last season, the bottom 2 go down, so its not like he has went to a team that is flying over there.

Well we dont know the reason why, we cant just fling silly money at him like Man U did with Rooney, we just cant afford it, he could have kept him but he may be a bad influence to the other players, and do you play him or just leave him sitting in the stands, leave him sitting in the stands, his price will plummet next year, play him and other players will be pissed off. oan him out for a big fee, reportadly 7 million (but i did just read that on here), let him score goals over there, and we still may make some money back on him next season.

Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan is set to join United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain on loan.

Officials from Al-Ain made contact with Sunderland earlier in the week with a view to signing the player on a permanent deal. After further discussions overnight however, it was agreed that the striker would join the club on a season-long loan.

Sunderland AFC would like to thank the officials from Al-Ain for the professional manner in which they entered into negotiations and the club wishes all parties well.

Manager Steve Bruce said: "Anyone who has seen Asamoah play will know that he hasn't been himself in recent months. This option suits all parties at the present time and the club is well-protected in the deal.

"Asamoah has three years remaining on his contract and of course my wish would be that he finds his spark again and we see him in red and white stripes next season in the form that first attracted us to him."

Gyan joined Sunderland from French side Rennes in August 2010, making 37 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats and scoring 11 goals.

Bruce, who has added Republic of Korea international Ji Dong-won and England under-21 star Connor Wickham to his attacking options this summer, also welcomed Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner into his squad on transfer deadline day.

This is still on SAFC.com (I've just copied it from there a few minutes ago). It directly contradicts the statement quoted by Steve above. I haven't thought Bruce could take us forward for some time now, but I agree with MrRAW that he's always come across as a sincere man. But after this I don't believe a word he says. It's so blatant.

I find it rather silly that bruce can come out and say gyan told him hes staying then 48 hours later he leaves... making out it was gyan... yet its not like the club didnt know about this loan.. gyan didnt sort all this out and go on loan behind the clubs back.. its not like bruce and quinn woke up this morning to the news... its a club decision and 48 hours ago they would have known what was happening.. yet today bruce comes out with a load of bollocks and all you lot believe it
