I would say probably yes but it's one of those that could go either way. Definitely a pen under next seasons rules. No VAR in European qualifiers?
Me too, not sure what the assistant is seeing (or why it's not a corner instead?) but it's quite a nice example of the sort of thing that might have been accidental before, but is going to get given all the time. It looks handbally, which is a word I'm going to use all the time now.
I'm not even sure why this one is up for debate. The players are close when the ball is struck, but his arm is in an outstretched position. Penalty. The PSG one still troubles me. Kempebe turns his back (which is criminal) but his arms are not abnormally raised. Still don't think it should have been a penalty.
No and no spare refs behind the goals too, just old school ref and 2 linesmen. Not approved in time I guess.
Guess I’m the only one who doesn’t think that Serbia incident was a penalty(plus the ref of course) It looks very handbally, but it didn’t look deliberate and it gained no advantage to the defensive team.
The most important factor in the decision of a penalty, should be whether a clear goal-scoring opportunity was denied. Half the time with these handbally shouts, the ball was probably flying in to row Z. A free kick inside the box, a la the passback rule, should be the punishment.
Any decisions overturned by var in the FA Cup semi finals will be shown on the big screens. A 'definitive video clip' will be shown providing 'clarity' and 'transparency' to supporters in the ground.
About time, I’ve not yet had the pleasure of var at a ground in person, but it sure looks like one long head scratcher for those in the stands. Sometimes it’s probably not even known what’s actually being reviewed
