Saw on twitter that one of the forums favourites rode out their claim this weekend. So my two unrelated questions are - Who? Name me the worst jockey to ride of even weights after riding out their claim?
One I thought I’d bring to your attention. In the 3.30 at lingers a few of these face each other again . I was at lingers and backed Navajo star to win when ridden prominently with atomic jack in second. I also backed le torrent who was well supported but failed to show his true worth. I fancy him today from stall 2 with his regular rider Tom Marquand who is 3/3 on this horse a cd winner.
Read the other day that Lucy Gardner was one away from the feat so I take it she obliged at the weekend somewhere. Cor blimey, my old love, ‘worst jockey’ is a tough one. What you will often get is that a journeyman, so to speak, will cease getting rides once they can no longer claim whilst a similar journeyman, of the same ability, will fall lucky and land a job with either or decent yard or rich owner. Often it’s a case of being in the right place, at the right time, rather than down to ability alone after a rider loses their claim. The above mentioned Miss Gardner should continue to get rides as, of course, Mummy Gardner is a trainer.
I thought you’d get that, it was Lucy who won at Exeter yesterday. It took a mere 820 rides to record that feat. I can’t think of a poorer jockey whose ridden out a claim. I await others opinions to the different
Maidin maith folks, mate has shares in Miranda runs 4.15 at Wincanton, says its a sure thing, currently 11/10.
I quite like one against that at a big price, Ravenous who I thought was interesting on his last run and if the ground is good enough the sharp nature of Wincanton should be perfect. Just hope the dead eight run.
Didn't dedication to blowing into musical instruments in smoke filled northern clubs eventually see off Mr Castle? Dedication is great but not if it kills you.
Tiger Roll just gone as short as 100/30 for the GN, team. Cor bally blinkin’ blimey what are we predicting then re his SP??? Also, re Aintree, I see the Lieutenant is going to be firing some ammo at the fixture – Santini, Buveur D’air, Altior, Pentland Hills, Kilcrea Vale (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more…) amongst others. No runner in the GN itself though which makes the whole heat a huge anti-climax. Think ‘The Boat Race’ without Oxford, strawberries without cream, fish without chips or an episode of ‘Richard and Judy’ without Judy.
Yep, died Sept 1994 aged 62. Bernard Manning outlived him significantly, he died in June 2007 aged 77. Must be all the beer that kept Bernard going so long
Technically, yes. But the great man has a splendid record in races over the GN fences at the GN meeting – has won the Topham 5 times and the Foxhunters once. Should make that 6 in the Topham in ’19 as well.
Gumball has just won again on the flat. I wonder whether he might be going back hurdling this spring / summer? Or maybe a flat campaign?
afternoon, lads! a bit late today, but hopefully, not too late; wincanton,4 45: purely,on what they ve achieved so far, there doesnt seem to be a lot between CHEF D EQUIPE and storm arising, but i ve the feel, the former has the marginally stronger form to boot, especially his second two starts back has been well advertised by the 1st and 3d since, and even on his last run in a useful handicap chase here, has a more than decent chance.yard is also going well at present..so,back in novice company today, looks a big player..
