Birmingham City's points deduction for breaking financial rules - how come no-one at the FA / EFL have noticed how this happens to so many clubs shortly after having Harry Redknapp as manager?
Yes, cheers FLT, a case of so near yet so far. A crowd of 1274 saw a 1-1 draw, not quite enough on the day. Not bad for very low league football. There are so many unsung heroes in clubs like these and its ignited a bit of a passion. Genuine fans, genuine people involved. Can't wait to get back to premier league action against Brighton next week and this is a far cry from that but all good fun.
Yahoo!!!! Commentators on S4C have 4 Welsh men of the match Oh, make that 5 now... Everyone keeps going on about England playing youth but what about Wales? OK, we don't have as many players to choose from so have to pick youth but praise where it's due... Must admit, I wasn't at all keen on Giggs being manager but I'm eating my words at the moment. Long may it continue!
Glad to see the ref booking for dissent too. Two Slovakian players booked within 5 minutes (including one after the final whistle) for facing up to the ref and presumably swearing at him.
That was well-deserved. The ref blew on the dot of 5 minutes added time, because the ball had hardly gone out of play in the 5 minutes. The players were presumably aggrieved they weren’t allowed to take the corner they had just won, but there’s nothing in the rules to allow for that. They were all very aggressive throughout the match, and should have had a lot more than the 7 yellows they got!
Germany are beginning to get their act together again. At least Löw has realised what a gem he has in Sane.
Genuinely, bloody excited to watch England games these days. Weird feeling. Tonight should be tough though. Drawn the last two games there.
I’m hoping we haven’t used up all our luck, in the second half of the Czech game, given our failure to win the last two against tonight’s opponents on their own turf. Not saying we weren’t good the other night, but a deflected pass to set up Sterling’s second, plus a deflected and an own goal must have used up a fair chunk of luck. Fingers crossed for a bit more.
I’ve only watched the first half so far and I was less than impressed, to be honest. As Glenn said, they were so pedestrian at times and only looked dangerous when they finally moved the ball at pace. Do that against a top team and they’ll be in trouble. They looked much better when Dire (deliberate misspelling) went off and Barkley came on. How long will it be before James realises he only needs to warm the bench for a “top” team to get in the England side?
