As its approaching a sell out , prize money etc , anyone have any ideas how much will our cup run have generated ?
I really don't know, but I would imagine the commercial spin off's are more lucrative than the prize money..that's assuming our marketing/commercial department are switched on
I imagine sweet **** all to be honest. There's **** all prize money in it. The gate receipts won't be that much out of the ordinary. Maybe a million or something I'd guess. Not to be sniffed play but it's not going to change the course of the club. Pure speculation mind. I could be well off.
Found this on the Peterborough local paper website; Prize money? Clubs will receive £20,000 for taking part - a win in the group stage earns you £10,000 while a draw earn you £5,000. Winning the final at Wembley Stadium earns your side £100,000. Last 32: £20k for a win Last 16: £40k for a win Quarter Final: £50k for a win Runner-up: £50k Winner: £100k Read more at: https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk...checkatrade-trophy-the-simple-guide-1-8624079
20k for taking part 10k per group win (x2) 5k group draw 20k Last 32 40k last 16 50k QF 50k min prize £205k in total! although the post above says nothing about what you get for winning a semi final not a bad wedge of cash but **** in footy terms!! Hope Ellis Short doesn't have something written somewhere that it goes to him!! FA cup winners receive £7m!! This is why competition is not taken seriously (that's accrued through the whole competition!!)
I think 500k/1mil would be a good amount to win from this cup, would help a lot of teams out. 200k is nowt.
Never gonna happen, prize money is linked to sponsors and advertising, it’s simply not going to happen. These cups are great in the way they allow clubs to give young lads a chance etc, they were introduced for that reason. The clubs in this tournament arent likely to have runs in the 2 major cups and often can’t afford to gamble on young lads in the league, it carries little prestige but a lot of purpose.
Wembley stadium and the EFL mate, and as they have a ticketing agreement with Ticketmaster they will take a slice as well. It’s grewt exposure though, it’s live on Sky, people are going to see 2 third tier clubs in front of a mad crowd. It’s marketing gold and we will benefit that way. Ticketing wise, 80k at an average of about £30? 2.4million or so, policing costs etc will swallow a huge chunk of that, the size of the crowd likely bites into that, but boosts other revenue like sales at venue and surrounding and stadium advertising.
We'll probably end up with around £3.58 of the gate receipt money!! Whereas if a cup tie is played away from home, the revenue is split evenly between the teams (which is why the little clubs all want the uniteds etc. to give them a cash windfall) - Sure I read that someone kept their club afloat for 4 years with income from an away trip to old trafford? Not 100% who it was but sure I heard that
Yeah just posted on the "tickets wanted" thread. Portsmouth have "Quickly" sold out their allocation of 40300 - not as quickly as we sold out or almost 40000! Yet they get more tickets than us and have a far smaller average gate (and away following etc.) Who decides on the ticket allocations for these things? They're as much use as a chocolate teapot really!
Was already explained mate. It’s not like the FA Cup etc where they work out alllcations, they literally make 50% of available tickets free for each team, our allocation was smaller as we are on the side with Club Wembley etc so there are less seats. They wouldn’t s usually have an issue as nobody would usually be selling anywhere near 40k. With Portsmouth having to do 9 tickets a head to sell out, I’d imagine either there’s empty seats or a lot of resold tickets on their end.
Also all of the seats from Club wembley on our side of the stadium have been snapped up by Sunderland fans. We are also going to be given some extra tickets being released today..
