For some reason I had in my head he was a last minute loan where we were desperate for a striker. Great news then. My squeaky bum is telling me Clarke-Harris will end up injured
Donny and Us both have ten games left to play with the aforementioned currently sitting thirteen points above in the table. Thirty points up for grabs but looking at our run in I think it would be most unlikely for us to reel the South Yorkies in and that is ignoring what the others in and around sixth spot get up to ! Maybe they should of gotten rid of Clarke earlier
Good hard working performance today against a good Charlton side thought we deserved the point we got
Can’t argue with that, a good game considering the weather. I thought their number 24 Cullen looked a great player, too good for league one, whereas O.Clarke................well O Dear !
I predicted 5 points from 6 games and we've got 11 points from these games games. Good job because we don't seem to be pushing away.
OK, Let's see where we are now then after the recent run of games compared with my earlier predictions : Portsmouth away (currently 3rd) ....Nil points ..................... 1 Point Sunderland home (currently 4th)......Nil Points....................... 0 Points Blackpool home (currently 8th).........1 Point ..........................3 Points Scunthorpe away (currently 13th).....1 Point ..........................3 Points Gillingham away (currently 21st).......3 Points ...................3 Points Charlton home (currently 5th)............1 Point ...........................1 Point Plymouth away (currently 15th).........3 Points Doncaster away (currently 6th)..........Nil Points Luton home (currently 1st).................Nil Points Coventry away (currently 11th)...........1 Point Bradford home (currently 23rd)...........3 Points Wimbledon away (currently 24th)........3 Points Rochdale home (currently 18th)..........1 Point Fleetwood away (currently 9th)............Nil Points Barnsley home (currently 2nd).............1 Point So, up to now 5 points to the good and if the remainder of my predictions come to fruition { And we all know they won't } but hypothetically speaking anyway we will finish with 56 points , a tidy sum........ but will it be enough ?
If you look closely at the flat bottom half of the table, it's interesting that although everybody is within a very few points of each other, there are some clubs going upwards and others moving downward. Strangely several clubs in the danger zone are at the top of the form table. Rovers are one of the most currently successful teams. We have a couple of awkward fixtures in the immediate future, but hey ho what's different about the last ten or so games? Our team is not the one which hobbled DC We are a decent club now, playing with more confidences. Did Charlton take us apart? No! Teams will treat us with the respect we deserve. And quite rightly so! Shame about Lockyer missing Plymouth. That's one game we would have liked to win.
Thought somebody said at Saturdays match Lockyer has permission to travel later so is available for the Plymouth game
Wimbledon look as if they might escape. Walsall, Rochdale and Bradford look as if they're in real trouble. So many teams are in the mix, but at least our goal difference is way better than most.
9 games left, I think 4 more wins for us will be enough to keep us up. By the time we face Bradford, we could be the team that relegates them. The following game we face Wimbledon and by this time we could be the team who relegates them too. Then we face Rochdale and could end up relegating them too. Imagine if we are the team who sends 3 teams down!
As long as we are not one of the three I reckon most supporters will not worry to much like they wouldn't if we were one of the three and they stayed up in league 1
The above info on Tom Lockyer I was given was wrong if you go on Bristol Rovers tw there are pictures of him training at Man Utd with the Welsh squad
Which of the players are not fit to play at the moment? A lot will depend on our squad's fitness to play out the season. Let's hope that GC is a bit luckier than his predecessor. He has been so far!!
Not seen Leadbitter for a while. I think he will be gone in the summer as been injury prone all season. Not seen Partington recently either. Injured I guess. Not seen Osho (loanee from Reading) play at all as been injured although recently been on our bench. Is he fit though? Not seen Matthews much since DC went. Doubt he is match fit. I can't see him being at the club next season as I bet he is on a good wage and not really involved in the match day squad. Shame as he is a very promising player but not really had chances. Not seen Rodman recently who is injured. He was picking up good form before his injury. I think just the above players are our current fitness issues
Spoke to Joe Partington before last Saturdays game and he hopes to be fit for this weekend, someone said that in an interview GC stated that Leadbitter would be an important player in the squad this season which I find worrying. I also mentioned to Steve Hamer that Bonham would be a good signing for next season and he said he is out of contract so I got the impression that if GC wanted him and we could afford his wages that it was a possibility. Hoping Rodman is soon fit and carries on from his recent performances as I felt he was a major asset to the team. End of season retained list I think will be quite interesting with Payne among others I hope will be leaving With Lockyer on International duty I am guessing that J Clarke would move to centre defence and Partington to RB Not sure Osho is quite ready for the first team but he does have pace which would be useful
