This is what concerns me field. Retaining our talent, signing the likes of Judge and quality defenders and forwards and losing all that revenue. Given Evans' track record I don't see him backing Lambert as is needed but perhaps I am overestimating the level of League One.

I'm also concerned that while we may be playing much better football to the eye we are still tactically falling well short, hence failing to put anyone to the sword.

Retaining our best players and recruiting decent quality players is absolutely vital to next season's campaign and not forgetting that loans will not be falling over themselves to come to a LG 1 Club.
All of this brings us back to the millstone round our necks, Evans, we will soon see the level of his enthusiasm which I fear will bring further disappointment, I really hope I'm wrong.

Badly need a quality CB for next season - weird stat for you all.

This season = 3 clean sheets ( ZERO away )

Clean sheets with Bart in goal = 0. Crazy.

I don't think we've remotely replaced Berra + Webster. Badly need to.

Bart hasn't won a game this season either has he? I'm sure Gerken was in goal for all 3 (three) of our wins.

Our three sheets, all at home, vs 10 man Bolton, and Rotherham / Wigan who have collectively won ONCE away all season. Scary dary.

Our other win was at Swansea, Gerken was in goal then, just checked. Poor Bart.

I wouldn't put too much blame on any individual for this. We've never had anything resembling a stable back line under Lambert - in terms of selection it's been a shambles. But we also haven't got battered either. The reason we are where we are is at the other end - creating and putting away chances - and we have now solved the first part of that problem albeit far too late.

Bart was outstanding on Saturday back to his shotstopping best and distribution was pretty good too.

Don't know if I'd go as far as saying outstanding. He was a bit slow coming out at times when defenders were ushering the ball back to him. He still looked somewhat shaky to me but he did ok.

Perhaps “outstanding” is over stating it.But compared to how he’d performed earlier in the Season that was a vast improvement!

If Bart had played as well this season as he had the previous 3, we'd certainly be at least in with a chance of survival. If he hadn't of shown that form in previous seasons I think we could of already been in League 1!!

He's certainly dipped in form since Mally left.
