Brilliant! Loved it! Read the true story when I got back and they were ‘discovered’ by one of my favourite DJs, Johnnie Walker, which makes me love them even more.
A great British film with lots of laugh out loud bits and a few parts where I seemed to have a little something in my eye .....

Well thanks to @fatletiss and our chat today, I have started watching the Sopranos (I know where the hell have I been). Watched 4 episodes so far...only 82 to go. I am hooked. How did I miss it from 1999-2007?!

Edit: not on Netflix or Prime....lucky I have my daughter's HBO Now subscription..... :)

Oi, Fats! Taking credit here, are we?

I've watched every single episode of that three times. The only other thing I've managed that with was My Name is Earl, but MNIE doesn't have eighty-odd episodes.

The speed camera on Maybray King Way has been the most prolific in the country, over the last 3 years, averaging 300 speeding tickets per week.
Approximately 13000 more tickets more than the next most prolific, over that period.
At just 10 camera sites, fines of £35m have been raised. JUST TEN CAMERAS!!!!!!!!!

    Wow!

I suspect the reason is that that bit of road just doesn't feel like a 30mph limit, thanks to being dual carriageway and having a slip road just before the camera - feels like it could easily be a 40mph (or even a 50mph if the road was placed elsewhere). Despite having lived in Southampton for years I still regularly drift above 30 then remember.

If the aim of cameras is to slow traffic then a huge sign on the run up saying "most profitable speed camera in Britain ahead" would do the job. But I suspect that isn't its sole purpose, is it?

It got me. 33mph. I didn't see it flash at time, nice surprise in the post.

P1ssed at time but fair cop. Took the driver awareness course which I thought was very very good and something everyone should take.

What annoys me is people like Beckham who hire loophole lawyers to get them off the points and fine. Just take your fncking punishment.

I used to go up that road on a regular basis, so always managed to stay below the limit, but then I genuinely do try to do that, even when going to work at 04.00 and there is little on the road.
As you say, it’s dual carriageway, so can easily lull users into straying the wrong side of the limit.
The camera I don’t like is the one on the west bound carriageway of Millbrook Road, just past the Millbrook flyover.
It’s positioned just where cars are trying to switch lanes to either get to the M271 or Totton, via the Redbridge flyover, and those trying to squeeze into gaps can be caught slightly above the limit. Plus the camera is completely hidden behind a big road sign, which I thought was illegal.

What a ****ing awful weekend. Locked in my building on Friday while my kids were locked in their school. As a country, never mind as a city we are reeling. Sickened and saddened. I'm not asking anyone to, charity begins at home - but there is a donation page for the victims if anyone is so minded. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/christchurch-shooting-victims-fund. I'm just spreading the word.

Yes, noticed that last night and thought the same - isn’t it illegal to “hide” a camera?

So sorry to hear Saint. These maniacs cannot be allowed to win and it worries me that some Muslim crazies will now “retaliate” against innocent people (who are always the ones who get caught in the middle). Such a tragedy in such an amazing and peaceful country - hope you can get the strength to overcome it and work together to counteract the madmen. Sadly, in my opinion, Trump, Brexit and the rise of nationalism has allowed the festering right wing fascism to grow.
Thanks for the link - donated

Have the box set (daughter bought it for me for Xmas) and haven’t got round to starting it yet. I’m sort of bingeing on Boardwalk Empire at the moment. Is the Sopranos better?

One of the most annoying things in my TV watching career. Earl getting cancelled before they could tie it all up, great series.

Good on you. Nice one Dave. It’s so easy to find abhorrent **** these days that it’s easy to forget it’s still a minority. The majority of us are good people. Decent people regardless of race or religion.
