With the world cup looming, that second half for England is really damaging. 31 points up at home against injury ravaged opposition, Eddie Jones didn`t seem to have the tactical awareness to prevent the come back - same story against Wales. That must be in the players minds.
Superb from Bottas. Completely dominant. Shame Ferrari wouldn’t let CLC take Vettel. Very odd race from them all round.
Ferrari are miserable prats. CLC earned himself a race at the end. Can see Vettel having a very frustrating season. A welcome return to F1.
It’s absolutely appalling, to be honest. I’m not taking anything away from Scotland, their comeback was amazing, but England just fell apart. Can you see the All Blacks giving up a 31 point lead? They would have gone on to put 60+ points past them. England’s mind set must be “we’re winning easily, so we can ease off”. Keep doing that and there’s absolutely no chance of doing anything in September.i honestly don’t know what they’ll do now. They’ve been found out and anyone playing them is likely to play like Scotland did in that 2nd half and cut through them. Very disappointing
I agree entirely, and a huge part of it must be Farrell’s apparent inability to simultaneously run the game and captain the team, 2 completely different jobs in modern rugby. I’m not one of those calling for his head, but he needs to have the captaincy lifted from his shoulders. There are plenty of candidates, but from the current starting side either Launchbury or Billy Vunipola have the experience and leadership qualities. Either that, or return to having Ford at 10 and Farrell at 12, although that would be incredibly harsh on the resurgent Tuilagi. The other thing lacking, and this has to be down to Eddie Jones, is a Plan B. We saw against Wales how the box-kicking tactics that worked in the first half needed to change in the second but hardly did. There seems to be no conception that the opposition might change their game at some point, which requires adapting to.
Honorary Saints fan Charles Leclerc looking very handy this weekend. Think he might get his first pole today.
Can't help but feel like Riccardo leaving Red Bull has hurt them both. Both Renaults out fairly early, while his replacement Gasly looks, well, ghastly.
Really excited to see how he does tomorrow. He is going to shake the grid up this season, and that's brilliant news. Such a talent. I knew this weekend would be worth the wait!
