Ferrari are clearly holding something back. So they are confident if nothing else. Mercedes look confident too though...
Interesting vote spread, I wonder if it'll look the same at 7:30 tomorrow evening. I went Max, for now.
First time I've been able to watch any of it free to air. At end of Q2, two things that catch my eye are Leclerc ahead of Vettel, and Norris has made the top 10. Shame Danny couldn't join them.
Mercedes have the best car by a mile by the looks of things, just like every year since the hybrid era begun.
Similar gap to last year in Aus. The more things change.... Wonder if Ferraris front wing just can't generate the front end grip downforce for a track like this.
One thing i noticed...the last sector where Red Bull should be really quick, Lewis is rapid there, in fact he has been making.up time in that sector since practice runs. The car is stiff and drives very bumpy, but is really quick in the twisty parts where Red Bull usually are usually strong.
Vettel: "I think we have a good car [for the race]" and suggests the gap to Mercedes shouldn't be read into too much because "this track is very specific". We shall see!
Kubica wasn't exactly close to Russel either. This could be a huge mistake. Got to hope Williams swallow what little pride they have left and work with another team to improve and quick!
Lando did very well though for the '2nd worst car on the grid'. But he is getting the sickly sky treatment
Did anyone else spot the Union Jack being held up with the words “ Sod Brexit , let’s watch F1 “ Not going to mention Williams
Well that's disappointing to see. Hopefully unrepresentative like last year, otherwise thus could be a 2015 level boring season. Possibly the big act of sandbagging in F1 history from Merc. There wasn't even a single ominous long run or competitive time on the hard tyres. The midfield does look a little closer at least. Be interesting to see if drivers make any effort to stop Gasly passing. The getting out of the way with an apology note was my biggest gripe with 2018.
