The writing was probably on the wall when they got into the Vanarama . Not being able to grow the crowds in a regular basis was a little bit surprising given that it's a pretty prestigious league !
Sad day for North Ferriby Talk is that clubs will have points deducted that they may have won against them That would mean Scarborough Athletic losing 6 points and Buxton just below Scarborough losing 1 point and going above Scarborough Debt was only around the £7,000 mark . (So I am told ) Seems a small amount for a club to be shut down for . Hopefully the loyal 150 to 200 North Ferriby supporters will be able to start again at a lower level. No idea where the would be able to play
The debt the winding up order was over was £7k, the total debts the club has will probably be much more.
Sure it's pure coincidence they've gone tits up since the Allam family got involved. The latest owner wanted to change their name and move grounds. Another spooky coincidence...
This is truly a sorry state of affairs, to see a club like Ferriby come to this situation, when they have achieved so much for a small team, really is heartbreaking.
An absolute disgusting and tragic state of affairs. With the obscene amounts of money swilling around in the game, especially £400k+ a week for some players wages, for this to happen is beyond belief. Basically football stinks at the higher levels. A sad day for local football. The game is ****ed.
It is pure coincidence. And if it wasn't don't be surprised if we see a repeat of this at a club near you. Now that would be a coincidence.
Very sad. I was at Wembley for the win over Wrexham, what a great day that was. I've said on several occasions that they should have moved away from Ferriby, possibly to Beverley and form a new club. Easier said than done, though.
It's more of a shame that the petition to stop the club moving got thousands of people, but only around 1% of those people actually end up going to the games. Were that number even ten percent, this could have been avoided. Not for definite, but it would have made a difference.
Sign of the times. Please don't close my local pub/post office/paper shop, I use it all the time, well, once or twice a month, perhaps, but regular as clockwork...
They're a village team, it was never realistic to expect thousands to turn up, however well they were performing.
Absolutely, but generally speaking if you're going to back something like that, they should at least follow up with a good will gesture. It was never going to be enough signing a petition.
Plenty of money around there yet none of them are willing to help out. Makes you realise there's going to be no local benefactor to buy City.
As a kid, I read the green mail. Obviously city was the first I'd look out for. Then Goole Town or North Ferriby.
****. I’m not happy to say the least. Also I know the whole discussion over crowd numbers etc but the club has been royalty ****ed about in the last 2-3 years or so, and I can’t help but believe there is an awful lot more to this than meets the eye.
