So just to be clear, everyone's **** now. Even Bowen ffs. Sad that the result of it being on TV is everyone taking it in turns to pick apart the entire team. I'd like to remind the forum that we're having a good season.
Their wage bill was £54.2m in their last accounts, they sold Maddison for £20m in the summer to fund another promotion push.
Well said. The view from the corner of the stadium and the view from the camera position were clearly very different. We were superb for ten minutes, they scored with their first attack. When a striker has the ball on the edge of the area and it is somehow a midfielder’s fault he scored, not the fault of an absent central defender, then one has to question to real motives of those slagging off our captain - who alongside Bowen, has undoubtedly been our player of the season. We then hung on and did really well to get back into the game through Pugh. Second half they had a lot of possession but few actual goal scoring chances, we looked dangerous on the break. They scored a third after a series of lucky flicks and ricochets. 3-2 was about right. We played well against a top of the table team brimming with confidence. The play off dream remains a flickering possibility.
Was that the season before, since when they have got rid of some high earners? They didn't spend a lot of that £20 million in the summer- https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/norwich-city/transfers/verein/1123 Seem to have got some decent players for fairly small amounts, the bloke who scored 2 goals cost £1.35 million and the other goal scorer, signed previous to the summer £1.5 million. Reason I was wondering was they mentioned Stuart Webber, who was successful at Huddersfield, being Director Of Football. He was the one who identified Farke as a manager to go for and will have played a big part in their recruitment. Seems to be doing a good job. The sad thing is that if our owners had given just a small amount of backing there is no reason we could have been up there challenging in what is not an outstanding division this season.
Hello again Markus. The fact he’s a midfielder has very little to do with it. He and Burke both let Stiepermann waltz through completely unchallenged. He could at least have attempted a tackle.
Why is it wrong to criticise Henriksen if he has a bad game ? People praised him when he played well The frustrating thing is we aren't that far off the best teams in this league but we will finish mid-table and the team will be dismantled in the summer
Waste of time mate. Many simply switch usernames to criticise and likewise on match days to hide the fact they don’t attend. Sad innit... You know who you are. Allams OUT
It’s not wrong at all. And frankly I think Henriksen was pretty average last night. But to blame him for a goal when he was attempting to fill in a gap left yawning by an absent defender on the edge of the 18 yard box is, at best, incoherent. Your second point is spot on. This team has a real spirit and organisational quality emerging that could carry us a long way next season, with some targeted improvements at centre back, defensive midfield and, if Bowen goes, up front (where signing Pugh permanently would prove a good start). It’s a crying shame that this won’t happen because of the owners’ shortsighted desire to deliver punishment beatings to the customers of the business they own and will continue to own for some time, I suspect.
