A non-PGMOL ref though who understood the concept of throwing yourself down because an opponent is within a metre and just kept telling him to get up you prick
english team likely. not bothered who we get, wums are quiet usually plenty to say on here after a game.
You said "I'd take 0-0 and extra time but any away goal.would be glorious. the front 3 might catch someone out." If that predicts a 1-3 scoreline then your standards of accuracy are, shall we say, a little loose? You were hoping we'd scrape by, but we did rather better, we controlled that game and came out clear winners. No extravagant slices of luck or dodgy officiating helping us out. We weren't scintillating going forward, but we contained them and limited their opportunities and scored 3 goals, 1 of which deserved to win the match on its own. However, I know you're always right so I won't argue further.
AH HA!! selective quoting and thus ignoring what i said. SO obviously i was right. We'd have a massive gap between defence and attack and rely on the front 3 nicking one. Exactly what happened for first goal.
For context on what it looks like when a #legit #footballgenius #calledit here's my prediction after the first leg:
Nicking one would suggest backs to the walls all game and then scoring with your one attack. not, scoring one... then controlling the game and scoring 2 more
We won the xG BTW and had 6-2 shots on target, so it's not like we "nicked one" against the run of play
That's not what happened though we dominated the game in all areas of the pitch and didn't rely on the front three nicking one at all just because the first game from a long ball it doesn't make your prediction correct.
Tbf though MITO is always we'll lose or scrape a win and with you we could have the entire first team out and you'd say our reserves will smash them so neither is really a prediction worth taking seriously.
I thought he had a good game off the ball and caused them problems with his closing down and runs without him the CB's would have been able to pick passes into Martinez and Thiago which could have caused us problems.
I agree, we have another gear and on another day we'd have embarrassed them. Just need to take that performance onto the next round now and our determination will see us through.
Klopp got the tactics right, there's no creativity in that midfield but there didn't need to be they gave it simple and allowed our front 3 and wing backs to get on the ball. I'm not a fan of that midfield but last night it was the right call.
Origi did more in the first minute he was on by making a successful pass out wide to Salah who crossed it for Mane to get the 3rd.
