According to Caulkin on twitter:- 'SAFC vs Stoke game now moved again - from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday 18 September.'
Its on SAFC website now too http://www.safc.com/news/20110909/stoke-kick-off-time-changed-at-police-request_2256213_2446223 Still not ideal but it shows that pressure from supporters can have an effect. Well done to all of us who emailed the club and EPL about this!
Good I am sure I am not the only one who replied to a latest news item on the SAFC website..well done SNQ
Nice one im doing the run but may just make the game now if i keep bloody running when i cross the line. No seriously im pretty sure this wont affect the attendance one bit as anyone participating in any way in the run has no chance of getting to the game. the club felt they had to do something with the fans kicking off and have been seen to do so but the game should not be played on this day end of.
I can't see any reason now why helpers, runners (unless you are totally knackered), spectators, and most importantly people travelling from the north of the city can't get to the game now that the kick-off has been put back...I still reckon that 4pm would have been better, but this is better than nowt.
This completely. My tenacity was for friends who wouldn't have made it. Nothing selfish at all as I still can't go. But finally the club have listened to us fans. Thanks to everyone who contacted the club and Premier League.
Just one thing wrong, and I am not trying to put the mockers on anything but, a few years ago I was back in the UK when the Great North Run was held and on the day I had left my mothers house for a few beers on the river-side at South Shields. At 4pm that day I found that I could not cross the John Reid Rd because the Police were still waiting for the stragglers to finish. I suggest that anyone living in South Shields, north of the John Reid Rd makes sure they can cross this obstacle very early because as we all know the boys in blue can be right cantankerous so and so's at times, hopefully the club have brought this to the attention of whoever is in charge of policing the areas. In the back of my mind I just cant help but feel someone will suffer because of some macho PC's ego. Best of luck to you all.
If you live or happen to be north of the John Reid, drive through the Port of Tyne estate (by the old Allison Arms) Pick up the A19 by the tunnel and bypass the lot!!
Forget my last post, I realise that you can't get onto the estate without having to go down the Newcastle road for a couple of hundred yards. I'll get me coat!!!!
