I never buy these rags anyway, but if I did, I would certainly stop now, they have shown no thought, compassion or respect to the family and friends of the deceased, but it's what we have come to expect from these gutter rags, they will never spoil a "good story" for the sake of the truth, and take there chance in court because they have deep pockets. The only way to hit these scumbags is in the pocket, it's all they understand. I KNOW it would be a futile gesture in the scheme of things, but if all the fans of all the clubs who have posted condolences on here were to boycott these rags, well it might prick what passes for their conscience...............I doubt it, but you never know, and if we could show a degree of solidarity it would be a fitting tribute to the Bluebird who sadly died.
couldn't agree more Proph. Wouldn't even pick up one of those rags waiting for a haircut or filling. They're all as bad as each other Sun,Mirror,Star,Mail,Express. Bunch of cunxs.
I wont even read the Sun when its left in the staffroom now, I refuse to read it after the article they posted. Insensitive, and unnecessary
I think there should be a concerted effort by fans all over the UK. I believe the Sun stopped deliveries in Liverpool after Hillsborough because their reporting was so poor and allegedly untrue. Bottom line is, if people don't buy the circulation goes down and it will no longer be viable for the respective corporations to produce these rags. Realistically, will this happen? Probably not but as mentioned above hit them in the pocket and they'll suffer.
Well done Cardiff City. The Mail and Sun are total rags. Scumbag journalists. Others are probably just as bad but the articles ive read in these papers are a total disgrace. Boycott them.
I was unaware of this incident having taken place and when I was watching SNN news on Wednesday morning I was deeply shocked, however the shock turned to disgust when I friend sent me a link to the Daily Mail article in Wednesdays edition. It basically painted the cause as the hatred between Cardiff and Swansea fans and continued to commit what can only be described as character assassination on Mr Dye. They had somehow identified Mr Dye from messageboard posts under his user name and used these posts to jusitfy their claim he had a past shall I say. This was done with absolutely no thought to the impact on his friends or family at a time of such tragic loss, the article also showed no respect for the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act or the Data Protection Act in short it was horrible journalism. Although I never met Mr Dye I was horrified at the manner he was being treated and decided to register a complaint against the article with the press complaints commission. However if I thought the Daily Mail article was bad the Sun took things to a whole new level on Thursday morning, indeed their "Banner" headline to their web based article was simply "Vile". Again In registered a complaint with the PCC together with an email to the author Mr John Coles, a email I would add which contained no bad langauge, threats or other nonsense but sadly others must have had the same idea and the email was returned because the Sun had blocked his account. This journalist is the same guy who wrote an article about a muslim threat to target Celebrity Jews in Britain in retaliation to an Isreali attack on Gaza. It turns out that the security expert used to big up the story had in fact gone onto various muslim messageboard, under a false name, suggesting that a list should be drawn up. Having created the story the Sun ran it as front page news naming Sir Alan Sugar as a target, Sir Alan complained to the PCC, who upheld the complaint, and later sued the Sun for endangering his life. These are the type of people you are dealing with here and perhaps they would do well to remember "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
I wonder if they'll print an apology now that the 6 people bailed have been released and the following statement by Scotland Yard,,,,,,,,, "Scotland Yard said there was was nothing to suggest at this time that incident was between only Welsh football supporters"
