Max O'Leary replaced Niki Maenpaa at Preston and started the loss to Leeds [ can be read 2ways! he started us losing ….NO or STARTED THE GAME WE LOST ] on Saturday
Follow live text coverage from 19:30 GMT on Tuesday
Bristol City goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa still has the calf injury which forced him to miss the loss to Leeds, so Max O'Leary will likely deputise again.
Korey Smith has returned to training after a long-term knee injury which has kept him out for much of the season.
Ipswich are set to give striker Kayden Jackson a rare start at Ashton Gate.
Trevoh Chalobah, Matthew Pennington and Flynn Downes have all returned to training and could feature having missed Saturday's draw at West Brom.
    Match facts
    • Bristol City have won five of their last six league matches against Ipswich (L1).
    • Ipswich have lost their last four league visits to Ashton Gate against Bristol City.
    • Since winning nine consecutive matches in all competitions, Bristol City have failed to win any of their last five games (W0 D1 L4).
    • Ipswich are the only Championship side yet to keep an away clean sheet this season, conceding 36 goals in 18 games.
    • Famara Diedhiou is the only Bristol City player to have scored more than two league goals at Ashton Gate this season (five).
    • Ipswich are yet to win a single Championship match this season when Bartosz Bialkowski has started in goal (W0 D8 L12).

We were poor tonight, we can’t deal with the weight of expectation, we have to be mentally tougher.

Tonight we should have been more attack minded. Ipswich deserved at least a point.

Second half we should have taken the game by the scruff of the neck , instead we sat back , crazy.

New keeper..... struggle to get in Mangotsfield's first team. Awful. I get that he may be Rusty but his performance tonight was shocking.

    Max next game please!!

Marinovic - 2 terrible blunders that against a sharper side would have been punished. Poor distribution with his kicking too.
Made a couple of saves when he had to - one was a good full-stretch save. Prefer Max on that showing though - wonder why he didn’t start? The sooner Maenpaa is back the better.

Overall a poor performance. Ipswich fought hard and we didn’t. Frustrating to watch.
Ah well, playing poorly and yet back in the playoffs.
    Next........

Need to give credit to Ipswich for their performance, but a painful watch for us.

Unfortunately it'll be hard to argue with those that say we're bottling it - sure, at this moment in time we're in 6th, but there are a host of other teams in the hunt in better form. We've had some tough games, but two points from five is bad at the best of times, let alone in the run in. Fatigue shouldn't be an excuse - I can understand not wanting to change a winning side, but that's not the case now, so maybe it's time to be bold. Not scapegoating individuals but Pack, Brownhill & Diedhiou have been ever present & maybe need a bit of a break in order to be at their best.

The worrying thing was not so much the result , but the performance, we were shocking.

Maybe not the best time to make such statements before having time to take stock, when emotions are high, but unless somehow we can return to the form we were showing , I think we may struggle to finish the season in a better position than last.

I think it’s our goalkeeper crisis that has spooked the team so much that it’s affected performance.
When Maenpaa was playing we looked confident.
    Soooo unlucky with bloody injuries

    Why wasn't O'Leary playing?

Maybe last night the Keeper was seriously affected by nerves but it looked like he had a lack of ball skill. If Bristol City are a passing team the Keeper should be able to control it and pass it A-B. B being short into Webster etc. Max O'Leary can do that and more - He is good at clipping balls into wide areas.

Luck did not decide O'Leary did not play. It was Lee Johnsons judgement.

I meant we have been unlucky to lose both our number 1 and 2 keepers to injury at arguably the most definitive stage of the season.
I agree Max should have played. No idea why LJ didn’t pick him. I suspect he will now though - at least until Morinovic learns how to kick a ball.

Glad I watched on the telly rather than travelling up - we were AWFUL

Surely Max needs to be back in goal for the next game if Maenpaa is still not fit

As for the game itself - I think it shows how important Marlon Pack is to us - he barley got on the ball

Whether we are prepared to admit it or not I think a lot of us were expecting this kind of form because, let's face facts, we haven't exactly set the stats alight and if you throw in inconsistent performances like tonight then we are exactly where we deserve to be in the division. I will agree that we have logged some splendid wins against good teams but the mark of a true contender is to put games like Ipswich to bed in style and move on to the next match. It's becoming somewhat boring to say we are very light up front but the facts prove that point in the fact that our shots on goal statistics are quite shocking and even when we control the game in possession we still come up short.

It's still not too late to book your playoff tickets but I don't plan to check the flights to Heathrow any time soon, but perhaps they will add a special flight for me should the unlikely happen. The dream is still alive but needs some injection of vitality.

I see more weird results in the championship tonight.. Middlesbrough losing to Preston at home, Derby draw to Stoke and Birmingham losing to Millwall.......As we see in this league, no game is easy and anyone can beat anyone on their day...

Weird results yeah, but what we now have is teams like Villa who are now on a roll sneaking into play off spots. PNE and Sheffield Wednesday breathing down our necks, and also even though they lost Forest as well.
I thought the other day maybe finishing 8th but I’m starting to think 10th now. Lower and we can no longer say year on year we are improving.
But knowing us we will come back after the break and go on another winning drawing run and turn it around.

And bizarrely this is one of the reasons I don’t want to go up, I love this league. Even though I would like the money the Prem offers, playing for 17th spot does not inspire me to going to games Friday, Sunday or Monday with playing 3pm Saturday, a rare day out.

Kind of agree...the Championship really is a great league....most teams are competitive.

Screw the Premier League...majorly slanted playing field with most clubs having the ambition to only stay in the club, not actually win it.

But what choice do we have if we want to progress as a club?

    Ruined footy forever.
