Don't agree that the second half was complacent at all, it was thoroughly professional. Controlled the midfield throughout. Reading threatened a couple of times, and targeted the space in behind the full backs with some degree of success, I suppose, but at no point did they look like scoring. Even being a Leeds fan, I didn't feel remotely nervous at any point in the second half. Did the smart thing, took it a little easier in the second half after doing the hard work in the first. Hopefully everyone will be rested and raring to go again on Saturday. Casilla oozes class and composure on the ball, very glad he's our keeper. I thought Ayling actually played rather well overall, but was lucky to still be on the pitch. Jansson and Cooper were solid as ever. Alioski was excellent going forward, but he did leave a lot of space behind him which we need to be careful of against Sheffield United. Phillips controlled the game again, puts himself about and harries the opposition so effectively. Didn't give Reading any chance to build from midfield. Roberts showed some delightful touches and drives from midfield really well. A little sloppy in possession sometimes, but he takes risks and creates space by committing players. Really good performance. Klich was solid if unspectacular, but a very nice finish to a nice team move. Harrison is growing on me slowly, but he's still simultaneously infuriating me. Has a habit of winning the ball back with some great pressing or tenacity, then messes up a really simple pass and squanders the opportunity he himself created. Crossing was a lot better tonight though, just didn't always have bodies in the box/right runs being made. Don't think we even need to discuss Hernandez, what a player. Two superb finishes. I suppose if we're being super critical, he should've had at least a hat-trick! Bamford was fantastic around the box, held the ball up well, great touches and flicks, really good ball control. Finishing was very poor tonight though. Thankfully it didn't matter too much, and fingers crossed he'll rectify that on Saturday by scoring a hat-trick. 9 games to go - we can do this!
Well even Gold doesn't guarantee either. I was letting you know that I've a room for that Sat, 45 each, if you do or can make it. (Clayton)
I think we knew the game was won second half so conserved a bit for Saturday, we could and should have had at least 2 more goals 2nd half but Bamford and Roberts were off target tonight. Saying all this at 3-0 up why didn’t we give Brown an outing? When Shackleton came on we should have introduced Brown instead, I’m resigned to the fact he isn’t going to feature this season.
Like your style buddy, I'll talk to you about that. Any chance game will be switched to Monday though?
Looking at the Sheff v Brentford stats, Sheff U must have been out on their feet at the end, nice early kick off on Saturday means they need to set off earlier too. One more win for us before the break and it’ll be looking pretty
I fancy Hull to win that one, the fans on their forum will be spitting nails that a win would help us too
Not for me. I think we have to accept that Norwich are a very good side. Saturday is where we can really break the Sheff U resilience. Even if we lose we're still in it so go for broke I say.
Fancy Hull to win but I don’t believe Norwich will end the season outside the top 2 and like you say, we need to put some air between us and Sheffield now. I’d like WBA to lose another game pretty soon just to ensure their top 2 challenge is dead and buried.
A win on Saturday, 38 games played for 76 points, 2 per game, and 5 points off third. Promotion is ours to lose at that point. We can do it.
When is roberts ever on target?. Ayling did well in attack but proved once again an inept full back. So on comes stewy dallas instead of beradi.. Weird one that. I think we could have scored more second half than first
