All over Apple's Shakira in the Coral Cup, 20/1 is a stonker of a price Amazing Comedy to follow Tiger Roll home Can see quite a few favs winning tomorrow, like the Mouse Morris in the minefield impossible to call 1st race too
My £5ew on Le Bruiel got me just ahead. Battleoverdoyen / Sams Profile ew Delta Work Brio Conti Altior Tiger Roll Lethal Steps (Awaiting bumper king)
I had two winners on Day One (raining so had to leave the laptop home and did not post them), so that is surely it for me this meeting (average about one winner a year!). So here are the ones to avoid on Wednesday: 1:30 BATTLEOVERDOYEN 2:10 SANTINI (sorry, I know that one is really popular!) 4:10 JOSIES ORDERS Those of you with meeting banker Altior will be relieved that I do not touch odds-on...
A little profit today but nothing to write home about though, first tomorrow i'm going on the champ, the second i'll be ducking away from santini and doing Delta Work and the only other is band of outlaws in the Fred Winter. Will end up going for one in each as a super Heinz
Morning Thought with two 2nd's yesterday that Joseph O'Brien was unlucky not to have a winner, might change that today... 4.50-Star Max @ 16-1 [Bet 365] Each Way..5 places [1/4]
Politilogue 17/2 without Altior in Champion Chase. I'd go for him in the main market at 25/1 but I really can't come up with even the thinest of arguments as to why Altior won't win.
Kempton tonight has its usual volatile look to it..but will have small each way plays on... 4.40-Halle's Harbour @ 12-1 [Skybet] 5.10-Munhamek @ 12-1 [William Hill] 6.15-Hooflepuff @ 12-1 [Skybet]
Tully East 20/1 , in the coral cup , represents a yard in blinding form atm , previous festival winner , well handicapped if magic alan has worked his spell
Gordon’s horses ran poorly yesterday in the main didn’t they? Is that problems with travelling over? I heard the horses aren’t being stabled at Cheltenham. I could be wrong on that. If that’s true maybe a bit of disruption hit them harder than the Mullins yard. Anyway, whatever it is I thought it was noticeable yesterday. Maybe today brings something totally different. It’s just a little concern about any of his shorties today that’s whirling around in the back of my mind. What came to light about Apple’s Jade run?
i’d say a few yards horses appeared not to run as well as recent for might have expected , but Elliot’s have been like that for a week or two now , mullins on the other hand .....
Apples ran like she was ill didn’t she. I can’t believe the run. The way Melon stayed all the way to the line and battled gave the impression the pace wasn’t daft so something must be up surely. I haven’t looked at the times yet but I initially thought they’d sacrificed Melon to set a blazing pace for Laurina to follow and hamper AJ’s chance but the way he stayed on doesn’t match up with that. Interesting whatever way it’s looked at. The best Champion Hurdle in 15 years definitely didn’t live up to expectations.
Apples hit the second and couldn’t dominate, she didn’t look the best in the parade ring but the other Elliott horses throughout the day looked well, but some didn’t seem to be finishing their races. Think it’s too early to be putting them as a negative, if Delta Work and Tiger Roll don’t go well then it will be after the horses bolted!
Elliot last year had a poor day or two then they started coming in for him? The ground seemed to be taking a lot out of horses yesterday, was the wind into their faces up the straight?
Given my normal record on Wednesdays at the festival I don't have much hope today but fingers crossed anyway... 1.30 Champ 2.10 Topofthegame 2.50 Dancing On My Own e/w 3.30 Altior 4.10 Tiger Roll/Ultragold e/w 4.50 King D'Argent e/w 5.30 Meticulous e/w
