My thoughts would be adios mate.

He’s been canny this season but he’s been good as the level has dropped. If we could release his salary for new lads I’d be all for it.

He won’t do that up a step mate. There’s a bit of romanticism around Catts, and while I’ve always liked him overall, he’s not going to do a lot in the next league and the wages he’s on are like having an anvil strapped to our bollocks.

Agreed he has been good this season but it's the first one you could say that about in a long time and we need to be looking beyond league one quality. Add his wages into that and it's a no brainer.

Don't get me wrong he's been a good servant, has my respect and I'll always wish him well.

I've been ready for him to go for a while. He's part of a hangover from Short's horrendous tenure in charge.

As you all know I'm a massive fan of Cattermole - Read a stat somewhere recently that, since we signed Catts, we've won more points with him playing than without which tells you all you really need to know.

That said - his wages are a major drain on us and, for that sort of wage, there is definitely better available out there so thanks for everything fella and see ya later

If the unthinkable happens and were still in this league next season then if true it's the first time in a long time that I'd be happy with anything the fat Geordie has done involving our club, Catts wages are just too high.
Love the blokes attitude and commitment but it would be a goodbye from me.

Yeh he’s been a good player for us we canot complain
But he now dosnt fit into our wage structure
I would be sad to loose him but like Marcus says there is better out there
For the wages he is on

He has been good, but with Morgan and Leadbitter we are stronger now, I don't know wether Morgan might stay mind next season.

The ‘more points when he’s played’ sty is fundamentally flawed anyway mate, given the amount of games he’s missed it’s a very jarred percentage.

    We can't afford him
Not sure how they can either

I know that they are a league above us, but next season we could be in their league, and be in receipt of parachute payments.

But we need him off our wage structure at the moment

I suppose you're right. The key word is structure. He's on 10 x more than most

Not really sure as he’s played 220 games for us in 9 years. That’s around 50% of our games in that time so the stat would stand up almost perfectly surely?

Only if you therefore want to divide the games by 200% and give them a 1 for 1 rating.

I’ve always liked Catts but he’s not a points winner, never has or will be mate.

Completely lost me there as I don’t understand at all!! I just look on the whole. He’s played over 50% of our games since he signed and we’ve gained more points per game with him than without.

It’s a bullshit stat mate. Someone has played half the games and we’ve had more points, these margins are tiny.

Prior to this season we’ve won about 30 games in 4 years, it’s no indication whatsoever.

I’ve been o this forum long enough to know you’re a bright enough lad, are you seriously trying to tell me Catts is a match winner? Is he **** mate, behave.

I like his leadership but pulling points per game from a team that hasn’t had any pints per game does not make a footballer.
